I've been an avid reader all my life and this has to be one of the worst quizzes BP has compiled. The recommendations I was given are pretty far from the sort of books I read.

Way off the mark, I hate historical romances and "spicy contemporary love stories". Read "It ends with us"? - I'd rather have daily colonoscopies whilst someone pours salt in my eyes. Twisty crime and dark humour are my things.

Omg I got the same as you. I love crime or a good physiological thriller. Absolutely hate historical fiction.

People that read don't need a nonsensical quiz to pick their next book. Also, this abomination doesn't contain a single question about books. I could understand if it asked about genres or if you prefer a first or third-person narration etc. But this? No thanks.

I know, right? Based on these answers, it could only ever predict what fits your 'personality'...when the whole point of reading books is to experience things different to/outside of your own life. Absolutely pointless

I read around 35 books a year and BP tells me to pick up Rolling Stone because I'm too simple for a whole book. WOW.

Couldn't finish this quiz. I don't snack when I am reading because that will ruin my book. How I handle stressful situations? No idea, don't have them. What I do when I am bored? I am never bored.

Terrible...I thought it would recommend me a book, but it's just told me to read magazines. Fu whoever came up with this

I have been reading all the wrong books apparently. I should have been reading historical romances all this time

I liked this quiz. I like to read a wide range of genres, so I'm going to pick one recommendations.

Exactly! It's meant to be something fun, not a manual for living your life. Besides, Gerda makes me think.

Time to Play Detective 🔍 You enjoy cracking a good puzzle, following the clues, and gasping at unexpected twists. You love books that keep you guessing. We think that you should pick up next: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Big Little Lies, or just go with the classic - And Then There Were None. If you've read these big names already, try The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle or The Maid.

I’ve stopped reading these kind of books over a decade ago. I did enjoyed them when I was a teenager.

It actually got my personality right. But I don't really read romance even though I am a hopeless romantic I prefer to read gritty crime thrillers. So I don't think you can ever predict someone's reading habits because we're all complex individuals.

Well, since I began re-reading the Aubrey-Maturin series I already know the next 18 books I'll be reading (unless making a pause for something else in between).
