We at Bored Panda can never get tired of Anton Gudim's thought-provoking comics, hence we would like to share his newest work in the "YES, BUT" series.

Although this Moscow-based illustrator is best known for his commentary on our society from the main account, his side project "YES, BUT" is gaining popularity fast. Gudim's two-panel comics capture our human contradictions so perfectly that his fans decided to get in on the fun. So, if you will ever come across any real-life contradictions, feel free to share them with this artist, and maybe your find will be featured in the "YES, BUT" account stories.

‘Yes, But’ Instagram account now has almost a million followers. Therefore Bored Panda got in touch with the author to learn how it makes him feel to have so many people gravitate toward his comic. He shared: “First of all, I want to thank everyone interested in my work for the feedback. My comics are about what I see around me, about incidents from my life, about observations, and given that my life cannot be called "unusual", so I'm not surprised that many people face the same problems or situations. It's also very nice to see when you're not alone and when people around the world can feel the same way. Of course, some of my drawings may be less understandable to most, and this is also absolutely normal because even though we are all similar, we can look at things differently, and we can have a different sense of humor,” shared Gudim.

You might not know this, but Gudim has already published 4 books, and one of them, luckily, is in English called “Everyday Absurdities”. “This book is a small summary of all my creative work: we have been choosing drawings for it for a long time, and the process of preparing for publication took about six months. The publisher and I shared our thoughts on how each of us sees this book until we finally came to a common form and content. The book turned out to be quite heavy and voluminous: inside it are several years of my painstaking work. By the way, you can find it on Amazon if you are suddenly interested in buying”, wrote Gudim.

At least he is wearing headphones, so it's only himself he is determined to ruin the forest for.

Publishing books and keep making new content takes time, effort, and, obviously, ideas, therefore, we wanted to know how many comics Gudim makes weekly. He shared: “A few years ago, I would have answered: about 2 comics a week, but now the situation is a little different. I have a second project (Yes, But (you could see it)), I still get commissions for commercial illustrations, and I also do some of my drawings in animation form (and since I have little to no animation skills, this process can take several days). Given all this, my answer would be almost every day. I draw something almost every day, I don't have clear days off, even during the holidays. I can draw something on the plane or in the hotel room. I can’t say that this rhythm is tiring because I feel that I can stop at any moment, but if I don’t draw for 1-2 days, I already want to draw again,” shared Gudim.

And lastly, Gudim added: “I hope that you will not be too critical of what I do. Although, perhaps, the Internet was created specifically for this. Comics/drawings/creativity is as much a part of our life as trees, sky, and birds, and I really like being inside it. All I want is to invite you to the world that I created, and maybe it will give you a little joy, distract you from problems, maybe make you think, or inspire you to some kind of your own creativity. Thank you for your time!”

I've walked on car hoods for this reason... once, the AH got the cops involved using his dash cam footage as evidence... he got ticketed for being in the intersection illegally and I got let go, police report was used to keep myself from having to pay "damages"

Ah, the feat of engineering that was medieval toilets. In fact, the poo fell down a long hole where it was picked up by a peasant at the bottom!

Once I got an absolutely beautiful pattern on my coffee and I had to take a LOT of pictures of it before I was ready to even drink it

This why I don't make money on my hobby photography. "You could make money on it" "Yes, but I'd hate it".

I wish. 50% are immediately c**p. 30% are one-use. 10% are two-to-five uses. And every once in a while you get a good one. So you keep those.

Methinks that they deliberately make it so pesky so you will take it off and therefore they don’t have to pay you anything

It shoots out money! Although, to be fair, can shoot out any type of paper that fits inside.

For those of you confused i think it's saying that while making it rain might be fun, you then have to pick the money up. which makes the machine that makes that possible kind of not so cool anymore.

I don't get it. Why is he shooting out money then picking it up?

That's the "yes, but". It's fun to throw all that money in the air, but you just have to pick it back up because it's money.
