So, we start talking with people and find out the reason that its so busy is because today is the last day it is open before the building was scheduled to be demolished.

Next closest bowling alley is like 3 hours away. So we played two games with our new fancy bowling gear and it's been sitting in my garage for 4 years now.

Make your own bowling alley on your property. Just some colorful tape on the floor, some bowling pins and bowl away. May not be very pro but at least you get to practise and develop some skill 🙂 also it would be so much fun to have a bowling battle with guests. Lol. Instead of board games you just have this homemade bowling alley. Lol

The dentist talked me into adding 8 crowns (upper) instead so everything would match. He then proceeded to drill down my teeth, too much. They looked more like tooth PICKS by the time he finished drilling... 6 1/2 hours later. Then temporaries, then 'permanent' crowns. The crowns keep popping out, there's not enough tooth underneath to hold the crowns. This craziness cost $15,000 plus he insisted I do 'crown lengthening' (miserable and unnecessary periodontal procedure) for another $2,500. The worst purchase from hell. He now has the audacity to act like he's doing me a favor when I return to have him recement these crowns.

I accept my poor decisions when it comes to mobile games. What I have that's close to regret is spending money on a game that was taken down after a stupid acquisition. Activision-Blizzard acquired King in 2016 and ended up shutting down "Paradise Bay." I have not found a game that fills the void it left, and that always frustrates me. Just because it didn't make bank like Candy Crush...come on. People were still spending money in it, and it was obvious from the small amount of players on their forums. *I* spent money on it, including a one-off cosmetic-only gingerbread ship. I *miss* that ship. I miss that game. Fck Blizzard.

Living in a holiday region. People need the RV too to go shopping, visit attractions and our ancient villages and hate it. Either not enough parking space, or RVs are not allowed and they have to pack everything before leaving the campsite for a day trip. Free camping is forbidden, after the white box invasion flooded the coast and destroyed nature reserves (dumping of toilet and other waste and parking in ground nesting areas). They brought bicycles, because, hey everybody cycles in the Netherlands, let's join ... and then realize that it takes a lot of training to cover distances of 30 km, or 10 km with a weeks groceries packed on the bike and an entirely different bike to carry crates of beer.

Got totally screwed on the financing but I didn't know any better. Found broken glass all over the backseat the next morning. Alignment was all messed up. My mom went down & raised hell at the dealership. I had one issue after another with that car. I ended up suing Kia & won a settlement. Best day ever was when I got rear-ended & the car was totaled. It was a minor collision but the car was worth so little it was more cost worthy to just total it. Went & bought a Toyota. These days I drive Subarus. I will never purchase a Kia again.

I use it seldom...but I love it.Turns frozen meat into small slices for Fondue or dried meat.selfbaked bread into slices to freeze them., apple slices for fancy food decoration..we even cut melons with it..just freeze them a little before,so they don't get mashed. It does not work like this with service dogs. One cannot buy a random dog and send it to a trainer. In short: Usually the parents of a litter have proven themselves as service dog. After having been weaned, the puppies go to foster families for a first general training and socialization. After a year the puppies who show the necessary characteristics for the service required, they go to a training school (still with that foster family). There it is established if they are really suited for the job. If not, they have a future as "normal" pet dog. The others get trained and only if there is a match with the person to be assisted, they are given to them as service dog. The EU is working on an official certification, but some countries like the Netherlands do have well established societies/organisations. Check KNGF.nl

Had always been very conservative about investing. Didn’t trust the stock market. Earned a good bit of money and friends and family convinced me to invest in real estate. Bought a condo in a resort (not a time share) that had done very well over the years. Heavily rented out and good appreciation. Also we used it for our vacation a few times a year. That was 2006. We all know what happened two years later. Place depreciated and people stopped vacationing for a couple years. Oh, and I was laid off. Just had to walk away from it, since we had to use our savings to hang on to our home and pay normal bills. If I’d done the same thing at any other point in my life we’d have done well. I happened to do it at the worst possible time.

In my 30s, I decided to buy a brand new Peugeot. I'd had a few dud cars and wanted something trouble free. Utter fail.

The first thing that went wrong was the engine chipset. Faulty. Replaced. Then months of things not working, leaking, knocking.

I found out that car owners could do very little if sold a dud. Eventually I got so annoyed I looked on the Peugeot website, found all the email addresses I could, and put them as 'To' and sent a message with 'unhappy customer' as the subject heading.

I listed everything that had gone wrong and demanded they fixed everything once and for all.

Got an appointment. When I drove in, there were some very annoyed people. Everything got fixed for free.

Still had a faulty life.

Peugeot factory works was not able to diagnose and fix a faulty wheel switch on a Peugeot, that routinely burned some or all the electronics in the dashboard pf a Peugeot 206. It took them *two years*, two full dashboard replacements, several repairs to finally give up... and do nothing except stop responding. Mechanic friend diagnosed, replaced a 200€ part and fixed the problem in half a day.

Young me saved, then paid, $199.95 at the height of pogmania for an investment grade signed limited edition cardboard sheet of un-punched-out and pristine gold leafed pogs. *Each* was hand-signed in gold ink by (hold on to yourselves) the man, the myth, the legend... Kyle "Poggy" McMalister, the undisputed best pogger in the known Universe and a name that will be remembered down through the ages ^(he doesn't even show up in Google now, I think he's in jail)

Within 2 brief years my investment had catapulted in value to $1.95 and a half-eaten ham sandwich.

No! I have had mine forever, and it works as good today as the day I bought it. Friends borrow it all the time to shampoo and deep clean their rugs. Their customer service is top notch! One of the best purchases I have ever made.

Beats Solo 3. Certified POS within 1st year, with part of the band separating and then soon after that, one side’s speakers c****ed out. Wish I had read the reviews and teardowns, which revealed a cheap build…including metal weight pieces added to give it “heft,” supposedly equating it with quality.

The Zune business model was flawed from the beginning. A subscription model. I like owning my things thank you. Then the market was flooded with $30 MP3 players you could load up with music from Limewire and it was game over.

A blu ray drive for my Macintosh. Turns out Apple provides exactly zero MacOS support for blu ray so if I want to actually use the drive I'll have to purchase a separate program to play them. (And there will be some discs that just won't play)

Bought a custom cargo trailer; baths/showers are hard to find for a cargo setting (race type) trailer. It was $40k built, 18.5 x 24 with a 96 interior height; took 6 months for delivery and it was an absolute piece of s**t as I discovered more issues every time I used it, and still am. I've had to rebuild several areas. I couldn't sell it for $30k 2 years later. Absolutely do not use Reknown in PA for your cargo trailer needs.

We used to see those things pop up all the time in insurance valuations for trailers. They were never valuated as being anywhere near worth what the people who put their claim in had paid for them. Though really every cargo trailer ended up being worth way less than the owner paid for it. They're just... not very well made, especially in the US.

“Total Waste Of Money”: 30 Of The Worst Purchases Folks Online Ever Made Back when Diablo 3 was coming out, Blizzard did a cross-promotional thing where you could basically commit to paying for WoW for a year, and you’d get D3 for free. They didn’t ask for the whole year up front, you just locked your account in so that you couldn’t cancel the sub for a year. I stupidly thought, “Well, I’m playing WoW obsessively, I don’t see myself not playing this for the next year, this is a great deal!”

By month 2, I think I was already losing steam on continuing to play WoW. Month 3, I logged in maybe 2-3 times a week, played for an hour, and logged off. I think month 4, I logged in once just to be able to say that I had technically gotten my money’s worth and paid for D3 with the subscription. Then I paid for WoW for 8 months without opening it.

So if I really break down the math on it, I paid $135 for the standard edition of Diablo 3 and a fancy mount.

Back in the early 2000s, I totally bought into the purse craze. That damn rainbow Louis Vuitton bag that Jessica Simpson would lug around. I still have them, and enjoy looking at them. But I'd rather have all the money back that was spent to get those damn bags my 23 year self had no business buying in the first place lol really regret all the Coach EVERYTHING, meanwhile I drove it home in a rusty 92 Cavalier with a busted headlight lol priorities 😂

If by "damn rainbow LV bag" you mean a Multicolore Monogram, you can definitely have the money back... and then some! Takashi Murakami was one of the most collectible LV collabs and its bags are very popular among collectors. The Multicolore was discontinued about ten years ago and they are very sought after. In good condition, they are worth about two to three times their original price, that considering inflation is at least a 30% net ROI.

I had a spell in the early 2000s where I would go to estate auctions with my dad and buy things to flip on eBay. Never really made or lost a lot of money. I had a Razor phone with internet access so I could check eBay before buying. My dumbest purchase, and one I still get reminded of, is a bunch of apple head dolls. These were real, dried apples that some lady would sew the most elaborate outfits for. The quality of sewing was great and we had the idea that we could flip these. Spent about $70 for 10 big boxes full (1st red flag). I checked eBay and there were none on there (2nd red flag) so we could create the market. Flash forward, it turns out that people aren't interested in creepy, dried fruit dolls with well crafted clothing. Hung on to them for about 5 years before tossing them. 2 years after that, regretted it when I thought of placing them around the city on a Halloween as a joke.

In 1990 a very 'fashion conscious' 16 year old me decided I just had to have a perfect vibrant pair of tie dye slouch socks I encountered at the mall. The bulk of my paychecks from my pt job was spent on clothes, so I really didn't bat an eye at the $24.99 price. However my parents and older siblings were happy to tease me over such a ridiculous purchase. Being the youngest, I half expected to getting ribbed over it. What I didn't expect though was that my bare feet would match my socks when I took them off! Even worse, after washing my new socks for the first time, I now had a $24.99 pair of dirty grey/brown old looking slouch socks!! I turned 50 recently and one of the questions in the 'How Well Do You Know...' game was about those damn socks. Still haunted by them 34 years later!! Lol

Here's a useful tip: Before purchasing/investing in anything - or giving your hard-earned money to a company, do a Google search like this: "ITEM OR COMPANY" COMPLAINTS. It will give you a list of various complaints and bad reviews. Then you can judge for yourself whether the reviews make sense or aren't legit. It's one of the BEST ways to avoid making a bad decision. Also, remember - there is nothing wrong in keeping your money where it is. You don't NEED anything unless it absolutely improves your life in a way that keeps you stable; or changes you for the better.

2001 Adidas Kobe 2. You couldn't really get basketball shoes in my country, so I got them via mail-order through a basketball magazine. My parents were buying them for me for my birthday, but told me I would have to pay for shipping. They took FOUR MONTHS to arrive, and along the way, several shipping costs were added, so I ended up paying more than my parents did for the shoes. Then, when they arrived, they were the WRONG COLOUR. I wasn't going to waste another 4 months, so I kept them. They ended up being a bit uncomfortable, and they were quite heavy as well, so I didn't actually end up wearing them that much (I got them specifically for basketball, and didn't think they were particularly fashionable outside of the game). When I threw them out about a year later, they looked barely used. These days, I could have sold them online.

6 months subscription to Tinder Gold at a time when I genuinely didn't have time to date because of work and then later didn't have the energy or the interest because of the burnout that caused. Went on exactly one date in 6 months and the guy was a creep. I was severely jetlagged and awake at 4am when I decided that this would be a smart investment.

To EVERYBODY moaning about bad automobile purchases - I can top anybody's stories. (Sit down for this.) In 1979 I bought a brand-new Triumph Spitfire. Fell to pieces in two years. I barely limped it to a dealership then traded it in on a (get this) a 1981 Saab 900 Turbo. Within two years its clutch failed, cylinder head cracked, and fan fell off. When I was young I was - well - "A fool and his money are soon parted". (I now drive a 2013 Chevy Volt - never a problem.)
