Customers Share Their Worst McDonald’s Orders On This Instagram Account (30 Pics)
InterviewLet’s face it - we’ve all ordered food that ended up looking quite different from the pictures on the menu. Many of these encounters might have happened at a place like McDonald’s. Despite providing great comfort food and having pretty high quality control, even this famous company faces some human error at times.
For our entertainment, many of these times have been documented on an Instagram account called McSenget. Check out all of these pictures customers have shared and try to pick the saddest burger ever.

When asked about the origins of McSenget, the creators of the Instagram account told Bored Panda:
“We used to go to McDonald's regularly after our band practices, and we’d often end up with senget (tilted in Malay) burgers. This is especially annoying when it comes to Filet-O-Fish—you won't be able to align the burger without destroying it when the buns are so soft and the cheese practically 'glues' the parts together. With that, we’d often end up having a less enjoyable experience as we may have bites where there is no cheese or even the fish.
Since then, we started a Facebook album as a venture to document the types of burgers we get whenever we order McDonald's, both the senget ones and the perfect ones (super rare). Eventually, we decided to shift to Instagram as McSenget to share our laughter and pain with a bigger crowd.”
“Followers usually submit their entries via DMs, tagging us in their IG stories or via email,” the team of McSenget told us. “We prefer to have entries with multiple photos—photo of the burger in the box, and when they are picked up (no munching before that please). This helps us to determine if the burgers are intentionally altered in order to be featured (yes, we do go into CSI mode to determine the authenticity of out-of-this-world burgers). We do receive a number of submissions on a daily basis, and we get about 3-5 bad burgers each day. As we are Singapore-based, we have many local submissions, but we are also starting to see more submissions across the globe.”
McSenget shared that for their 100th post, they have hunted down the top 5 outlets in Singapore with the highest incidence of senget burgers based on fan submission: “We ordered the most senget burgers from these outlets on the same day to judge for ourselves. It was really fun and some outlets really never fail!”
No hon, this is NOT what I meant when I asked for cheese on the side
Like the team mentioned, Filet-O-Fish is usually the worst burger, but it’s sure not the only one: “Every burger seems to have a signature way to mess up—like how McSpicy usually comes with lettuce scattered around the box. We also started noticing a new trend—Cheese Slap, where the cheese somehow ends up ON the burger instead of being inside the burger. It is really funny because there's really nothing else you can do but to enjoy that 1 bite full of cheese.”
McSenget's team consists of 6 people, ranging from their mid-20s to early 30s: “Our common interests are burgers (of course!), and laughing through our pain. We all have our full-time jobs and are running this page as our interest.” Following the success of their Instagram account, McSenget has even launched their merch: “We started selling merch since July, featuring the very first cheese slap burger we received. We will produce more merch in time to come!”
A lot of these just look like the food slid around in whatever box it was packed in before it was eaten
You get what you pay for, and what come from a giant dumpster that calls itself a "restaurant".
True story, but I’ll understand if you don’t believe me. This happened at a Wendy’s. I walked into the restaurant and when it came time to place my order at the counter, I ordered one “Double Stack,” which is Wendy’s 2-patty cheeseburger. By default it comes loaded with lettuce, tomato, pickle, mustard and ketchup. The cashier asked me “What would you like on that?” to see if I wanted to add bacon, etc. I replied, “Just cheese.” She looked puzzled and echoed “Just cheese?” I nodded yes and she took my order. My order arrived in the usual paper bag, I paid and walked to my table. When I unwrapped my burger, it consisted of a bun with one slice of American cheese. Ok, maybe this person was new or recently had a brain tumor removed, so I returned to the counter and showed my “burger” to a different server. One major eye roll and a spirited “teaching moment” ensued, after which I was compensated with a fresh, proper cheeseburger. I know I’m very fortunate while many are not, but c’mon.
MD's food actually looks kinda gross on its good day so, yeah, I hate that stuff either way
I’m on the other end of the spectrum. I never eat McDonald’s (I don’t eat meat or dairy) but many of these look good to me lol. I miss McDonald’s. I can just imagine those salty fries and McFish or whatever. Even if it’s kinda sloppily made, I bet it tastes yum.
My sister worked at McDonalds for a summer in high school. She was a really good employee, making sure she did everything properly. Rather than praising that, they gave her a bad review because she barely surpassed the time limit. They didn't care if it was done right, only that it was quick. She quit after that and got a really good office job.
So many of these are the filet of fish. It's been recognized as the least popular sandwich on the menu. Makes me think people that have to make them almost don't know how to do it because of how rarely it comes up.
I saw many of people made with Burgers looks big and better than McDonald burgers.
I never eat McDonald because I’m vegetarian and diet longer time. I remember I was child and ate Big Mac burger was delicious. I saw and heard many of people queue and waiting at McDonald. Staffs looks so busy.
Seems like those double filet o fish sandwiches are really hard to get right. My hubby gets mcdonald's all the time. I, personally, can't eat the stuff. I only worked in fast food once, at a subway. I imagine a few of these are because they are being rushed to put out more, suffering from understaffing and just wanting a break. Just put your lettuce back on and fix your bun. Some of these are blantantly messed with (upset employee), I'm not referring to those, but seriously, if it's just a bun out of place with a few straggling pieces of lettuce I really don't get why the complaints.
That square Filet O'Fish paddy appears to be a real challenge! (Not popular here in the UK, land of the "Chippy" aka fish & chips takeaway). The wages at McD's aren't horrible either here, so the assembly problems really are a matter of "not giving a sh*t" and poor quality control. [I now check to see which sandwiches/burgers can be modified and make sure I have them leave off the ketchup: means they have to make a fresh one every time as they can't camouflage ketchup removal very well.]
You know, many of these look like an art installation by Claes Oldenburg that got vandalized, rescued and then further damaged very badly during transit. 🤪https://www.moma.org/collection/works/81183 43B690C8-7...4-jpeg.jpg
For the amount of money that each of these customers were charged for this "food", they should have received a more edible product. These exhibits are 100% of proof of why I never eat "fast food" unless there are no other options available.
