They definitely need to report this to the state cosmetology board. This is plain gross negligence.
To find out more about That’s It, I’m Hair Shaming, we got in touch with the group's Admin, Lufuno Khumalo. She was kind enough to have a chat with Bored Panda and share some background information about the hilarious community she started.
"The group was created 8 November 2019, and it was purely just for fun when shaming groups were starting out," Lufuno says. "It's honestly been mind-blowing to see the group get so big; it wasn't expected but it's been a fun ride."
Next, we wanted to know what Lufuno thinks makes a hairstyle shame-worthy.
"It is based on two things: the process and/or the outcome. Because sometimes one trusts the process, and the outcome isn't what one expected," she explained with a laugh. "But sometimes the process is shocking, and the outcome is actually beautiful."
The Admin also says that group members are very active in That's It, I'm Hair Shaming. "Sometimes they're so active that it requires me and my team to all monitor a post together," Lufuno noted.
No, Tf It's Not Fine
When it comes to the most popular posts in the community, she shared, "Based on group engagement, I can say the most favorite post or type of post would be bad hair dye jobs. I personally can't pick a single favorite one, but one that stands out is our cover photo. We picked it because of the hilarious backstory."
Finally, Lufuno noted that she works hard to ensure that the group is a welcoming place. "My team and I have put in a lot of effort moderating the group to make sure that it's not racist, homophobic or sexist and [doesn't discuss] politics or religion. So anyone can shame as long as it is only based on the hair on the head and nothing else."

Have you ever cried after getting a haircut, pandas? I have, more times than I’d like to admit, and apparently, I’m not the only one. According to a study from Tyme Style, 20% of women admit to shedding tears over a haircut that they weren’t happy with, and one in six women say they’d be embarrassed to leave the house if their hair didn’t look good.
At the same time, over half of women in the United States say that having a great hair day makes them feel more positive and increases their self-esteem. 20% also believe that having great hair makes a person more credible, particularly in the workplace.

But why do our manes make us so emotional? We’ve all heard the cliché of women chopping their hair off after a nasty break-up or shaving their heads while experiencing a nervous breakdown. And psychotherapist Rebecca Newman told Dazed that this might come from our innate desire to make decisions that will provide immediate relief when going through a difficult, transitional period.

Sorry If You’re In Here, But It Ain’t It Sis
“Grief after a break-up can drive someone towards making a big change in appearance, as a way of potentially lifting the literal and metaphorical ‘weight’ of the hair,” Newman explained. At the same time, taking care of long, luscious locks can require a lot of time and energy. Some women feel the need to free themselves of this mental burden when letting go of a relationship or moving on to a new stage in life.
LOL
But if you find yourself sitting in a salon chair immediately regretting your choices, there are a few things you can do for damage control. When trying to salvage a bad haircut, Byrdie recommends first speaking to your stylist about it. Try not to panic, and convey your concerns honestly. But if you’re worried they might make it worse, don’t hesitate to get a second opinion. You might be able to find another hair expert who can transform your look into something you’re proud of.

I Had My Hair Cut For My Birthday Not Too Long Ago, Got It "Layered", Dyed And Styled
I decided to straighten it as I normally have it straightened daily and only style on occasions (hair dresser was aware...) anyways, I'll just leave this one here (the after photo i had my hair up in halves as its thick)

If you’re worried about cutting off too much hair or making your new do even worse, you can always just practice patience and grow it out. It will grow back eventually, and it’s very likely that you’re judging the style more harshly than anyone else. Plus, your stylist might be able to make some adjustments along the way, while you’re in the process of growing it out, to make sure that you don’t have to suffer with your tragic look for too long.

If you truly hate the length of your hair, however, extensions do exist. Byrdie notes that they can add length and volume to your mane or help balance out layers that were a bit too extreme. Extensions are often easy to use, and there are options available for any budget. Plus, they can be a fun way to try out a new look without having to commit to anything! Always wanted bangs? Why not clip some in for the day?

To Say I'm Not Happy Is A Understatement

Some of these atrocious haircuts are apparently trending, as they appear in this post multiple times. Like the weird sort of "mushroom" style with its bizarre layers. Not since I cut my own bangs in 3rd grade has anyone had such a bad haircut as these.
You would be surprised. Just last year I had such an atrocious hair cut at a cheap salon the people at work thought I did it myself. Thing is, I've done my hair on my own and no one noticed. When I went to another salon to fix the atrocity, I discovered my back layers were butchered so short and choppy, the only thing the hairdresser could do was to thin and blend out the back and I had to just let it grow out.
Load More Replies...People are too judgemental. I hate judgements and also ridicule. Hair grows back. Rather fast and can be changed within a few months. I am one to have completely and constantly changed my own hair for a decade. I've been all the colors. I even melted all my hair off and had to pixie cut it. ✂️ Idk.. whatever these styles are. It's temporary. I did mine due to emotionally instability and insecurities. I'd literally dye my hair while in the back seat of a car on the way home from buying the dye. I couldn't wait. I even once did it at work on a night shift. ( its sad 😔) I actually have beautiful long thick hair naturally. After years of trauma therapy and now 35 years old. I'm actually content with my regular hair color. I actually still struggle going to a salon. I've only went once in my adult life. I have body dysmorphia and panic disorder. The mirrors at the salon. I can't handle it. Or the people. My husband trims my hair. It's alright sometimes. Good enough. I curl and style so doesn't matter if the trim is not perfect. People tend to see things only surface deep... maybe look farther.
I do feel bad for the people that payed a professional and ended up with a home haircut but I've also done my own hair different colors lots of times when I was younger and had a lot of fun.
Load More Replies...Why did I have to get this recommended the day I'm getting my hair cut!? Now I'm even more nervous (the last 2 times I cut it it got completely ruined)
