Woman Posts Photo Of Absolute Worst Passenger To Be Seated Next To, And It Goes Viral

When Jessie Char saw her seat on her flight from Long Beach, CA to San Francisco, she thought she struck traveler gold, but then things took a turn…to the worst!

“I was flying home to San Francisco and was so excited when I realized I had the whole row to myself. I even left the armrests up so I could bask in my luxurious airplane bench,” Jessie told TODAY on Twitter. “A few minutes in, I heard one of the armrests fall down. I looked over, figuring the hinge was loose. At that moment I noticed a foot emerge, followed by another foot on the other side. The toes were in full wiggle.” As if that wasn’t bad enough, a while later Jessie saw that same person open and close her window, with her foot! If there’s one thing every traveler should know, it’s that you don’t touch plane windows that aren’t yours… Especially with your feet! “It was some combination of disgust and amazement,” Jessie said. I think we could all agree?

Someone did a similar thing to me in the Cinema once so I used the straw from my drink and subtly began breathing a jet of cold air onto their feet.....they soon moved!

This story is ten times more interesting because it has an actual, funny reaction that solved the problem and you even managed to get a laugh out of it.

Tweeting about it IS doing something about it in this case. We're a digital culture. How else are you gonna talk about and teach manners if not through the most massive digital communication platform?

Put the phone down and take some action. Ask the stewardess to address it, or keep blowing on his feet Lol. No way you have to just sit there and stew the whole way home.

Flight crew should have seen this and made her move her feet. If not go and say something and have them come and tell her too. Why wouldn't you just do that? I would have if they were bothering me so much that I posted it online. Many people have no manners, feet up, hair everywhere, coughing and sneezing without covering, you're bound to see it on planes and buses so unless you want to put up I would report it to someone who can do something about it or ask the person directly.

Why begin your comment with "woman"? That is extremely condescending. And we don't know what happened afterward. She might have actually done something about it. And no, she was not "bitching" about it, she was laughing about it.

Begging for attention. I'm beginning to lose faith in humanity. Not because of the feet's owner, but because of the internet making such a b******t, body part shaming story a viral hit. If that's the level of entertainment we are at now, then I can understand why aliens won't talk to us.

You didn't call a flight attendant? I would have - instantly. This did happen once, although the person was wearing socks. I put the arm rest back down, and the idiot who shoved their foot through called a flight attendant and complained about me! She laughed in his face.

Many people here have presented suggestions that could have corrected the problem, but that might not have been the goal. By taking pictures and posting them she got nationwide publicity which was quite possibly the desired outcome.

That is so rude. When I flew back from Europe in 2011, I had one leg in a cast and had to prop it on something near a window, but I did ask the man in the seat in front of me if it bothered him, and he said, "Not at all." But my foot was not resting on his armrest. I would have complained to the crew, and if they didn't do anything I'd complain to the company. And if they didn't do anything, I'd take my business elsewhere.

I had someone put their bare feet on the back of a cinema seat I was in. I did turn around and say: 'Put your feet down, put your shoes on. You're not twelve feet tall, so there's plenty of leg room.' She didn't initially. I said: 'I'm not asking. My next step is to get an employee in here.' She finally did...

This is such a load. Poor Betty-Sue had to look at someone's feet. And? Small child, there are Far worse things happening in the world every f*****g second of every f*****g day. Did your plane crash? Did Foot-Man accost you? Were you physically forced to look in the direct of the offending appendages? If this was the most traumatizing thing you encountered, even just that day, you need to get down on your knees and thank whatever deity claims you. And then get over yourself.

This is a classic overreaction in order to solicit more overreaction situation. While I personally would not do this with my feet on a flight, I dont see the big deal, she is two seats away and not in her personal space, though opening the window with a foot is gross.

Ummmm no, the worst passenger to sit next to is a guy who's at least 40 years older than you, who insults your field of study, hits on you for a while, then falls asleep with his feet sprawled out onto the middle seat next to you. This was my FIRST plane flight, and it was for 6 hours. 😐

Had the same thing on an Incheon South Korea flight to Atlanta. It was simple enough to remedy. I took my thumb a forefinger and "twicked" his feet with it. He sure realized it was not acceptable and withdrew his feet. Another thing happened while at the Incheon airport. I was in a convenience store at the airport, and after waiting in line a Korean cut in front of me like I wasn't there. So, I did the same thing and "twicked" him on the head. The guy was surprised and the clerk behind the counter explained to him in Korean what he had done wrong. The guy acknowledged the fact he was inappropriate and uttered something in Korean as an apology. Bottom line is that wherever you go, there are some real idiots and to deal with them all it takes is a little reminder that they are wrong.

Sorry but where is the problem here? Maybe the person behind didn't realize that there was someone in the row in front and only saw the two empty seats? What problem is there to just turn around and ask politely if the preson would stop this? Or ask the flight attendant for help?

A lot of people here seem to thinking confronting this person is the correct way to handle this but unfortunately in this day and age it seems you seem to become the person causing the problem. I think this is one of these things that we all just need to look and maybe spend a little more time teaching our children to have a little more respect for the people around them.

There was a woman with really long hair in front of my mom on a plane. Really long and really unwashed so it was stinky. The woman kept flipping her hair over the seat so it dangled all the way down past mom's tray. We kept asking the flight attendant to say something but every time the woman would whine "But I don't want to sit on my hair!" So my poor mom was stuck for hours having to look at and smell unwashed hair. We really should've asked for some gum to chew and stick in her hair or if they had a pair of scissors so we could cut it. Mom's a retired beautician so at least the cut would've been even.

To be serious, I think the most disturbing thing about this story, is the fact that somebody takes a plane to travel 400 miles! Aren't there any trains or communiting communities?? Very weird indeed that people here are talking about "educating" other people and about how to behave while one of the biggest problems we've got - global warming - remains unaddressed. I think, there is only one person in this story who should really reconsider her choices.

If you're worried about global warming, it would be more expedient to stop consuming meat, eggs and dairy. Airplanes are not the problem; factory farms and animal product consumption are the true problems.

I had to sit next to a lady from the very far east, like Iran or Iraq or some desert country who used perfume instead of soap and water. (My husband later explained why to me.) She did not like moving her bare, sand covered feet off my seat but the flight attendant asked her to do so since there were no other empty seats on the plane. I was sick from the smell all the way through the flight. Try that for a plane ride.

Iran and Iraq are in the Middle East. Iran is not a desert country, and both of these countries use soap and water and have done so since the beginning of civilization. You likely encountered someone who just came from the beach and just forced your hatred of arabs and Persians into the situation.

OMG there is NO WAY I wouldn't say something. I don't mind flying, but not when some idiot ruins it for you. I've gotten sick from the dude behind me coughing and deliberately drawing up phlegm in his throat (which makes me want to vomit just hearing it), I've had people with long hair fling it over the back of the seat in front of me, while reclining (that one resulted in several hard pushes against the seat as I was "reaching for something." I see so many nightmares from others, I'm glad I've only had a relatively few bad experiences flying. People are SO RUDE!!!

I fixed the hair over the seat thing - and I wasn't kind about it, since I'd asked her to move her hair twice. The next time she flung her braid over the seat, I opened the tray table, wrapped the braid around the latch once or twice, then closed the table. She found out what happened when she tried to go to the loo. Did I mention I have a very innocent face?

Very weird indeed talking about "educating" people and showing them how to behave but directly contributing to one of our biggest problems global warming at the very same time! Well, it is just a couple of feet, or am I missing something? And uhm, it is possible to say something too. And opened a window? That's like super dangerous on an airplane, and pretty sure it's not possible. Haha.

Uhhhhhh....opening a planewindow means lifting the shade so you can see outside. It doesn't mean literally opening the window to the air outside. I surely hope you are joking.

Did I mention I have a very innocent face?

you can't take wire cutters on the plane, but you can take a length of twine or thin rope.. make two loops with slipknots, so the harder they pull, the tighter the loops get...

I would order some hot coffee to calm my nerves and hope there is no turbulence.

To be serious, I think it's much more disgusting for somebody to actually fly 400 miles! Why not take a train?! Very weird indeed talking about "educating" people and showing them how to behave but directly contributing to one of our biggest problems global warming at the very same time! Now here's somebody who really needs to rethink her behaviour!
