Not being able to do something you want increases the need to do it exponentially. And you‘ve probably never suffered from wanderlust as much as you have during the lockdown. But these two friends from Germany, Jano and Oliver, have always felt that way. The adventurous duo is on a mission to bring a piece of our beautiful world to your home through their breathtaking photography. Each photo is like an aerial postcard of the most spectacular places in the world. And you can see a full collection on their Instagram called World Walkerz, which already has 87.5k followers who come back for daily virtual trips.

Here‘s a free flight above the hottest travel destinations with unique heritage, landscapes, and culture. Where would you like to visit the most? Let us know in the comments!

More info: Instagram | worldwalkerz.com | Facebook | twitter.com | youtube.com | tiktok.com

The two guys from Düsseldorf and Dresden tell the story behind World Walkerz in short on their website. They say they met in Miami, USA, in 2012, where they worked together as chefs: “From there on we became good friends and decided to see more from this awesome world.”

So their journey began in the USA, then continued in Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong. Meanwhile, they have explored almost all of Asia, including North Korea. But the idea to create World Walkers was born during one of their earliest trips to Jakarta, Indonesia. We agree, it’s pretty selfish to enjoy all these beautiful and diverse places on their own, so sharing it with the online community that perhaps don’t even get a chance to travel is a fantastic idea.

The only way to enjoy the Arc de Triomphe is from the air, because the traffic around there is a total nightmare!

“We always like to travel, see new places and cultures. With photography we can capture those places and share our story. With our pictures we want to show things from a different point of view,” Jano told Bored Panda about their mission.

Jano and Oliver have flown their drone over major cities around the world showing how famous landmarks and undiscovered places look from above.

"We have visited around 50 countries so far," the duo said when asked what was the most memorable place they have visited so far. "Every country has its own good sides. The most memorable place is hard to choose because there are so many. Raja Ampat in Indonesia was a very nice place. But there are so many nice places in the world."

The duo lists all the countries they’ve managed to visit so far:

“We've been to the USA (Florida, Hawaii, New York City), Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Cook Islands, Tonga, French Polynesia, Philippines, Thailand, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Nepal, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macau, China, South Korea, North Korea, Germany, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Spain, and Switzerland.”

However, they highlight that the number of countries they explore is not the most important thing; they want to make real and authentic experiences and memories out of it.

Jano and Oliver are adventurous travelers, so when asked to share interesting or funny stories from their travels, there were too many to pinpoint the best: "There are actually many stories, we've missed flights and trains. If everything goes right, it´s not an adventure."

We asked about the equipment they use to capture aerial shots.

"We use a Sony Alpha camera and a DJI drone. With drone pictures, we can show a completely different perspective of those places and show the overview which you can't see from the ground. Many places and buildings are designed for an overview which you can only see from above."

The coronavirus pandemic limited traveling around the world, so we asked how they have dealt with that:

"We haven't stopped traveling. It changed a lot of things and some things got a little bit complicated. It would be good if things getting easier again."

Finally, we asked for advice you can use as traveling gets easier:

"Work hard and save some money. Try to find a way to travel the world and just do it. Don't listen to other people too much, focus on things you really want."

What's the best way to ruin a peaceful procession of columns in a tranquil mosque? Plop a baroque cathedral right in the middle. A jarring transition to say the least.
