Every job comes with its challenges. A micromanaging boss, an unreasonable client, outdated software... Heck, some have a whole bouquet. But when you are sitting at your desk, responding to emails, or filing yet another weekly report, it might seem like you're the only one who is struggling. You're not. The Instagram account MBA-ish shares memes about these harsh realities, and it already has over 564K followers—a testament to the fact that it understands what employees are going through.

If I read every email as carefully as the sender thought I was going to read it, then my job would be nothing but reading emails. If it's that important, come tell me to my face.
I hate it when people come tell me something to my face. Just send me an email with all the important details.

People need to be paid what they deserve though. I speak from experience.
Load More Replies...I think that's true if you clearly have someone who has shown leadership during those 6 months and has what it takes to manage. What workers often don't realize is that managing a team isn't just about knowing how to do the work of that team. You have to be able to manage your team's funding under strict guidelines, handle your staffing issues and discipline when necessary, and work with the Executive team in a positive and effective manner. We've promoted staff to management because they swore that they were ready for it and then just completely tanked because they really didn't have the skills and had trouble developing them even with training and coaching.
We don’t have to endure everything that’s wrong with our job. "Bringing up a problem at work to your boss or HR can feel intimidating, but approaching it tactfully increases the chances of being taken seriously," Keith Spencer, career expert at FlexJobs, a leading platform for finding remote jobs, told Bored Panda.
When doing this, he explained, "It’s important to clearly explain the issue and how it’s impacting your work or the organization. Try to maintain your professionalism, presenting the issue calmly and objectively and, if possible, suggesting a potential solution."
Corporate: "It's still not moving. Obviously four whips aren't enough, we need more!!"
Corporate: Let's give them less food too! (less pay/benefits) That will obviously motivate them to work harder and get out of the mud.
Load More Replies...In the software world I used to work in, it went more like this. How long will this take? 5 developers 1 year. OK, we will give you 3 developers and do it in 6 months. 11 months in, and it clear that the project is way behind (note developers tend to overestimate the speed they can do things in, not underestimate it). "Solution" give two more developers to "speed it up". At least two of the current developers have to spend most of their time bring the new developers up to speed. Their new "solution", "add more developers" that need to be trained and slow things down more. End result? If the project ever gets done it ends up with 10 developers working for two years.
"Afterwards, it’s helpful to follow up with a brief written summary in order to document the conversation," Spencer added.
"If the issue isn't addressed in a timely way, you can politely follow up or even consider escalating the issue through the proper channels, while keeping a record of your efforts."
People who cannot do the few clicks to disable onedrive or have the files local and in the cloud, are usually the very same never doing backups.
But you shouldn't be forced to do that. Things like OneDrive should start out being optional, not normal conditions that you have to opt out of.

I once took part in a factory tour. It was lead by someone who worked there for almost 30 years, recently retired but immediately took the chance when asked whether he wanted to do these tours. That way, he can also see his former coworkers. That's a good sign!
Retirement at first is quite lonely. You're no longer seeing anywhere near the number of people you're used to, which is why so many of us volunteer.

However, there's only so much you can do in some organizations. A survey from the American Psychological Association (APA) revealed that 19% of workers say their workplace is very or at least somewhat toxic, and those who reported being part of one were more than three times as likely to have said they have experienced harm to their mental health at work than those who report a healthy workplace (52% vs. 15%).
5 minutes? I'd hit the d**n button on my way in to pick up a donut and leave.
Load More Replies...I always welcomed meetings because they were the best place to expose and stop bad ideas as a group. Our principal could ignore one department head, but he was too much of a coward to face us all down.
In the 80’s/90’s we had meetings to plan meetings. This was the start of “It could have been an email”.
You might think they're bragging. Whenever I mentioned how much I worked, I was always s****y I got all the extra responsibilities, without the extra pay, or I was working those long hours because they wouldn't even hire one person to help me... Having 1 person do a 4 person job.
I used to occasionally watch a UK TV series called "The Money Programme" because it was the best evidence that there are extraterrestrials among us. E.G., when a law was passed making it illegal for most organisations to force an employee to work >48 hours/week, they interviewed an estate agent (realtor) who seemed genuinely surprised that anyone would want to work <60 hours/week.
My manager would always say stuff like this and once I got fed up and replied 'so that we end up like you?' and maybe it was something in my tone that he didn't reply.
By work type, those in customer/client/patient service jobs (31%) were more likely than manual laborers (23%) and office workers (22%) to report experiencing verbal abuse at work.
But 1 in 10 manual laborers (12%) reported that someone within their organization displayed physical violence toward them, whereas about 1 in 20 office workers and customer/client/patient service workers reported the same (5%, 6%, respectively).
It's actually really sad. Their bodies stay on the mountain, a warning unheeded by others.
And they're having a problem because most of them weren't buried (it's mostly ice and rocks), and because of global warming, they're beginning to decompose.
Nope at home working, petting animals, forgetting I'm meant to be working and play on phone, put TV on and half watch it whilst making coffee, look in fridge for 10 mins for food. Really why the downvote ??
I'm the same. I totally recognize some people work better from home, but I am not one of them!

Trades, trades, trades...they're screaming for them! The system of guidance counselors 'college tracking' students needs to stop.

I, on the other hand, often do. But then I use a real word processor - WordPerfect.
As a writer and editor, I can tell you this is not always true. If you’re using a template, you can really fvck things up by keeping the original formatting.
Discrimination is also a serious issue, with more than 1 in 5 (22%) saying they've witnessed it within their current workplace and 15% reporting they've experienced it themselves.
Additionally, more than a quarter (28%) reported having witnessed negative slights, insults, or jokes that devalued the identity or negated the thoughts and feelings of others based on their identity or background, and nearly one-fifth (19%) of workers said they had been the target of these behaviors.
And those who will study the plumbing of ancient Egyptian rulers will be Pharaoh Faucet majors.
You do realize that there's an entire generation of adults that weren't even alive in the 90's? Why p**s in someone else's fun?
Load More Replies..."If you’re feeling stuck, overlooked, or constantly drained at work, it may be time to consider looking for a new job," said career expert Keith Spencer.
"Signs include a lack of growth opportunities, feeling undervalued, or being overwhelmed by an unsustainable workload. You might also notice a shift in company culture, an increase in micromanagement, or simply a persistent sense of dread about going to work."
It's not about courage, it's about having to pay the bills. Very Very few people have a job that they love that is enough to sustain them. But, this is how it will always be. Choose your career wisely!
Kinda makes it sound like productivity hasn't significantly increased while wages have stagnated and the ratio of exec pay to the average employee hasn't shot up through the stratosphere. It's not that people are suddenly not wanting to work or not willing to accept that work is work. It's that the screws have been tightened to the point of stripping and those who have noticed are not willing to say "that's just how it goes."
Load More Replies...The other option is giving them weeks of training that will not help you much. That is what the purpose of college is: it prepares you to spend a lot of time learning things that are - at best - tangential to any real-world tasks you might be faced with.
Or you get training in stuff that is completely irrelevant to the job you were hired to do. 5 hours of Sarbanes Oxley accounting training for an IT guy is a complete waste of time.
"And here's your machine..any questions ask the next person over(who just had their production rates raised by 10%).
The reasons things are bad for employees is definitely not that the people at the top don't know about their problems.
Our feelings don't come from nowhere. Consistent patterns might be legitimate indicators. "If you find yourself regularly daydreaming about leaving or updating your resume in your spare time, pay attention to your instincts," Spencer of FlexJobs said.
"A job change isn’t always easy, but staying in the wrong role can be even harder in the long run."
Interviewer: Tell me about yourself. Me: I'd rather not. I really need this job.

When someone quit, my cousin's boss told him "We're one person short, so from now on you'll have to pick up the slack.' My cousin replied "Make that two people short" and quit.
This represents a defective understanding of what a "great idea" involves.
I once handed in something to our idea pot and they wanted ME to realise it. The idea had nothing to do with my job, I asked when or how I was supposed to do it. "Then we'll give it to someone else" (great, that's how it should work) "and they will get all the recognition" (sorry, what?). So I claimed the idea for myself and just add a word every 6 months when I get a reminder to keep it ongoing in the idea system.
Look up the words salary and raise in a proper dictionary, then get back to me with how stupid you think that statement was.
Roses are red, work makes you scream, I used to have hope for life, Now I have memes
Currently working on a file named "final FINAL USE THIS ONE"

I LOVE that boss!!! He/She/It understands those of us who are suffering from PTSD, Anxiety etc....Where do you work and do you have any openings?
90% of my pie chart would be: to prove later that you knew about this
Had that stuck up in my office back in the 80s. True then. True now. Doesn't actually change anything though.
Before you accept a promotion, see what it's done to former co-workers who got promoted.
Please in the name of all that is holy stop using "rockstar" (or "rock star") to describe employees.
"I'm a genius Please do not fire me." and "I'm a moron. Give me that promotion." are match-ups which are more true to life.
Game suggestion: replace the censored word with a worse censored word. I'll start. F**k

His face dropped at the realisation that he's been f#cked over
I had 30-plus years of experience in my field and my boss would still trying to hand me BS little tasks saying it would be "good career development". Uh, no. Planning Brittany's baby shower probably won't make it onto my resume.
Trig sucks but I hated circles more cuz literally the worst math test I took in geo.

It's time to dump the whole idea of college for almost everyone. Sadly, you can get a student loan to cover a $200,000 communications degree but it's much harder to get a loan to buy a welding machine or other equipment to start a job in the trades.
