35 Women Who Dared To Get Their Hair Cut Short And Got Awesome Results Thanks To This Hairstylist (New Pics)
People like to transform their style sometimes and the easiest way to do that is probably changing one's hairstyle. The women in this article decided to chop off their hair and go really short and it doesn't look like they're regretting it at all.
A hairstylist from Moscow, Russia named Kristina Katsabina is the culprit of these transformations. She helps the women transition by giving them amazing and very stylish hairstyles. Kristina shares her work on social media and inspires many women to follow suit and get the big chop. The hairstylist has been featured on Bored Panda before, so if you want to see the previous article, click here.

In a previous interview with Bored Panda, Kristina said: "A lot of women in their 30s are either working in a field they do not like or they have lost all of their inspiration to keep moving forward. It happened to me too; at some point, I lost all of my motivation to keep moving forward and deepen my knowledge when it came to my profession at the time. Before becoming a full-time hairstylist, I was teaching Spanish and also worked as a translator and choreographer."
"I fell in love with my own transformation, one could say I went to the extreme, going from long locks to the short hair I have now. The transformation results weren’t only visible in my appearance—no, the transformation also touched me from the inside too, I felt way happier than before. In the end, I fell in love with the process and it made me realize that I could see people in a different way. It is all about giving them suitable haircuts based on their preferences, personality, and the person’s overall charisma."
The goal of these transformations is to inspire women and show them they can turn their life around, follow their dreams and become who they always wanted. Cutting off your long hair has become a kind of a symbol of letting go of what no longer serves you and starting fresh. Creating the life you always wanted for yourself. Hopefully, if you were still wondering if you should cut your hair or not, these women will inspire you and you will finally take that freeing step.
"I think the main thing the hairdresser has to possess is the ability to wholeheartedly love working with people and feel their needs. Of course, you also have to consider things such as aesthetics and one’s personal taste, but in the end, your mission is to make a person a better, more beautiful version of themselves. And that's what I do with my haircuts, I like to make women feel happier, more beautiful, free, and brave."
Yes eyes pop - she could look great even with longer pixie version
Love the haircut she looks more youthful but she could loose the scarf
Lip stain is hard to pull off if you tend to have dry skin(dry lips as well) I love the idea of lip stain, but this is how it looks on me when it starts to wear off.
I don’t think we were able to get the full effect because of her hair in the braid but I still love it
Yes everyone can, that's the point. "Worse" is subjective to current social norms. We also thought powered faces and wigs looked good once. It doesn't matter if it looked " better" before, the important thing is they feel good about it
Load More Replies...I tried cutting my hair short once. Above chin-length. No one said anything negative, some told me I looked great... but I hated it. I hated the way I looked. So short hairdos aren't for everyone, but I applaud those who both have the guts to cut their hair super short, and can pull the look off! Short hair can be super cute.
My hair has nearly always been at least halfway down my back. I've cut it short three times in my 56 years...and hated it every time. I think I just don't have the face for short hair.
Load More Replies...This Stylist knocks it out of the park. One of the biggies in this collection is the women have the same clothes, the same makeup and the same lighting.... and many have the same expression. Now you are comparing just the haircut. So many of these before and after pictures collections have poor lighting, the person is looking sad, their clothes are so-so and the hair is messy. Then they show the person after the haircut with fabulous clothes, fabulous make up, perfect lighting and smiling... so kudos to Kristina Katsabina for doing it right!
All had their brows done in the after though and a ton of hairspray/product, where the before was undone hair.
Load More Replies...Cheers to trying something new. I like many of the results. I kept my hair short after cutting it for the first time (and donating the hair), I only grew it long once more to donate it again. Not exactly bragging, but that was the reason why I grew it a second time out before getting it cut again.
I couldn't look at these cuts all the way to the end. Yes. One if those traumatic hair happenings as a child. Grade 1 I had natural ringlets down to my lower back. My mom wanted to cut her hair short and she thought it would be a good idea to chop mine off too. Really really really short. I hid behind her when we got home and then jumped out to surprise my dad. Oh boy. The look on his face. Not happy. Neither was I when I got to school and when standing up to sing the anthem my teacher said "Oh. I see we have a new little boy in the class." Yep. Issues. I dont like having to break in a new stylist and they don't like it either. God help you if you cut it to make the tops of my ears show. So from now on in the interests of my mental health, I'm just gonna stay away from these posts.
Miss Frankfurter....wow that WAS a traumatic event in your life...if you can't look at these kinds of posts. The stories, in the news, that I shun are about animal abuse... can NOT watch ....that is out of my range of tolerance. The nice thing is that your hair grew back and you have it the way you want it..
Load More Replies...These women all look great! I have really long hair. I cut it off once, about 10 years ago. Kept it short for about a year before I started growing it back. Short hair is just way too much maintenance in my opinion. But kudos to those that can pull it off and make it look great!
Why the hell is this titled "women who dared to"?! Why do they need to "dare to" cut their hair in any particular way? As a guy I don't see why this is an acceptable title to the post, anyone of any gender is entitled to cut their hair however they wish and don't need to "dare" to do it! Surely it should be titled along the lines of "35 women who got stunning haircuts from an incredible stylist"?
I could swear that the article has a male author (face palm) & the worst comments are from men.
It’s always the case. And they still claim most criticism of women comes from other women. No self-awareness.
Load More Replies...From the ones show I would say it is 50 / 50. None of them look bad as they stylish had done a great job on every one.
Load More Replies...I like that there's a wide panoply of ages represented. I don't agree with every choice by the stylist but that's subjective. I wish that BP had muted the colors though. And, btw- I knew after scrolling through but before reading the caption, that these were Russian women. Given the wide range of Russian ethnotypes it's not like there's a single physiological type and yet one can tell.
I love before and afters but the title "35 Women Who Dared To" is dumb. It's not DARING to change your hair style.
The women are glowing in the after shots, even younger looking too!
My hair is to my ankles and I personally don’t understand very short hair. It’s masculine and I just think women should want to look feminine. Just my opinion of course. To each their own! I will say though I actually feel bad for some of these women because they didn’t even get nice pixie cuts. It’s like the hairdresser just cut it, not taking into their face shape, hair texture etc. into consideration. Some of them could have been much more flattering 🤷🏼♀️
Most of the afters are way too short and in my view don't suit the ladies. Luckily, hair grows and they will get their beautiful hair back
I am here only because the title of this article is bull s**t Woman who “dared” to cut their hair short?? What century is this ??? Change your title bored panda
I (a dude) literally cut my own hair last night because I was tired of heating up so often at work. It turned out nice, but I would much rather have one of their hairstyles. Awesome sauce.
there should be no fashion in hairstyles, every face needs something different... people should do whatever suits their face best, regardless what is "trendy" right now... and not all women are made for long hair... for me a typical example is Halle Berry... sure, she's still pretty in long hair... but average... she could get easily lost in the crowd... in short hair she is a f*****g superstar!
Or maybe people could wear what they like instead of what you think that suits them
Load More Replies...Some of the women pictured had really nice great before they had it cut short; so for some there is no improvement. A few really suit a shorter look and look amazing, but it's very subjective.
Good choices... I think. The numbers on the entries changes and as the votes move them up and down the page. When voting is closed then the numbers stop changing.
Load More Replies...I don't have a problem with short hair, but he gave most of these ladies the same haircut. I don't like them. He made them look like men or recovering cancer patients. Which, yay for those who are recovering from cancer, but most of these could have been much more stylish.
How can possibly a haircut make you look like a man since both women and men naturally have long hair?
Load More Replies...I strongly prefer most of the longer haired ones. But if they're happy, go for it. My girlfriend does not like my tattoos. She knows that if she cuts her hair short, I will get my left arm finished where I want it to be.
Except yours is permanent and hers isn't so hardly a fair trade off. If neither of you are ok with each other's aesthetic choices then maybe it's not the relationship for you
Load More Replies...I know I "look better" with short hair but in the 80's hair products were not what they are now so I'm traumatised and don't want to try again lol!
The isdue with short hair is it needs more gunk in it to keep the style looking well defined, plus regular trimming. With long hsir, you can stick it up in a ponytail or bun or French roll, if you want to do the 50s look. Not that these aren't chic, but I personally don't have the motivation to fuss with a short style.
I love good manners on men, but I’m not holding my breath.
