Women’s Faces Before, During, And After Orgasm In Photo Series Aimed To Help Normalize Female Sexuality
Ah, the elusive female orgasm. We don't always talk about it, and not all of us have experienced it, but it deserves our love and appreciation nonetheless. Agreeing with an earlier submission on Bored Panda, Brazilian photographer Marcos Alberti is aiming to break up the dense fog surrounding the world of female sexuality, and is celebrating it in all its glory with The O Project - a steamy series featuring photos of women from all around the world before and after an orgasm.
Teaming up with women's sex toy company Smile Makers, Alberti called on models of all nationalities willing to explore their sexuality on camera, including those from more conservative cultures such as China and Singapore. "Our partnership with Marcos allowed us to create this orgasm faces series to upend that social stigma around human and especially female sexuality, and encourage the normalization of female pleasure," said Fan Yang, Global Brand Manager of Smile Makers. Each model was given a 'Smile Maker' and left to do her thing, and the 4 frames of each finished (pun intended) piece show the changes in their expressions as they reach the climax of pleasure, then ease into final relief.

I think, it's about showing that female orgasms do NOT look like as orgasms shown in porn. Considering this, I agree that these pics help to normalize female sexuality.

I am not prude at all, but this makes me uncomfortable. 1. It's not authentic, regardless of whether or not they had real orgasms, the fact that they knew a camera was present, means there was filtering/posing to some degree. I also feel like a woman's face in the height of passion, is something very personal, and its not something that should be cheapened by exploitation. If guys did this, not only would it be terrifying, but most people wouldn't even click on it. I don't think this really normalizes anything, but really aims to arouse more than anything.

I found the contrast between the first photo and forth photo is so powerful and heart melting! regardless of races, every single woman has a smile at the end this is absolutely stunning! And I just couldnt believe how many are missing the point and blame the photographer for their ignorance..

I guess from a male perspective, I like the fact that they put the discussion out there. It may be faked, it could be real. Either way it is very nice to see the idea behind this in that there is beauty in sexual pleasures. I find all of these very beautiful even if it were fake. I do not feel this is exploitation but rather truth. At least the face of a woman when they orgasm is extremely beautiful since there is a reason why they are making that face and it is for the pleasure. The best part is the smile they all have afterward. Beautiful. Guys look like giant monkeys being electrocuted.

It's not a new thing. Saw it a few years back. Maybe not the same "artist" but the exact same idea. I don't find anything interesting in seeing women coming, in fact it embarasses me, as it's an extremely private and intimate moment. And no, I wouldn't want to see men, for the exact same reasons. Throwing sex at us at every possible angle and under every possible cover long gone took down the TABU label from it. Leave such things for your own bedroom.

Does there always have to be a point? Art is personal. It's an expression of the artists soul - and often an exploration of their curiosity with the world. It shouldn't have to be explained or defended. If we're lucky, we experience the same discoveries the artist did. If not, we can still appreciate their art at face value. In this case, why not just celebrate the beauty that is woman?

Seeing how many women they found who would be comfortable doing this had the effect of normalizing that women can own their sexuality in a positive, for her own self, kind of way. Women are chronically being portrayed in media as sexual objects with the intention to arouse men. Even if those women in the media do arouse some few women too, my impression is, that is still not the intended audience. This takes the woman's personhood out of the center stage. This post puts it IN center stage. My favorite thing is seeing how happy the women are in the end. Orgasms release beneficial chemicals. Good reminder too go and have one ladies.

The photo was so clear and strong with commonality - the smile on the forth photo, I found the before/after, photo 1 versus 4 so powerful and it melts my heart! These women obviously knew what they were doing when they agreed to do this, whether it is faked or not is irrelevant. Everyone has a different opinion of art is . i wish this was more honest as im sure they held back their o faces and orgasms,, it looked like that. im here reading this and viewing it to help with my own self judgement on my O face, it didnt do much as they look like they arent doing much at all except a handful. i want to see the real deal like my own in the mirror to feel a bit more comfortable and not alone, normalized like it was trying to do.

I don't understand the point. Normalizing female sexuality. Given that a lot of babies are born every year, I think we are all pretty normal that women have sex. This seems to be a backdoor (no pun intended) way of legitimizing soft core porn.
