Weird to me the "private" people... this was happening in the opposite of private. Hard enough for people to keep stuff private at home with social media, but you do this c**p in public, it's on you.

In this day and age, anyone who doesn't know there are cameras everywhere deserves what they get. And remember, bits and bytes live forever.

My former spouse cheated on me emotionally and physically for years. Gave me warts. Can't tell you how humiliating it was to get them removed from my johnson by a doctor. That's a very real concern. STI's are no joke.

Given how much info the poster had, letting everyone know was the only way to inform his wife. Its unfortunate, but the only other thing to do is leave his wife in the dark. I'd rather know, and know the internet had my back, than not know.

Outing a cheater was the right thing to do.

I've had too many guys gaslight me about cheating that I feel nothing but catharsis in this. Cheating is akin to date r*pe. After all, that's taking away someone's ability to say no. If you cheat then sleep with your partner WITHOUT confessing? You're sleeping with them under a situation you KNOW would make them say no. So in this instance, "lying by omission" is the roofie. That's why being cheated on feels so invasive and makes your skin crawl. That's why it's so hard to shake off the aftereffects. Nobody talks about the residual trauma being cheated on (and the gaslighting about it) causes.

Some couples have open marriages; an arrangement to allow for this sort of dalliance. I think it was completely out of line for the poster to reveal this. Maybe it would’ve been a quick fling and he’d have gone home, contented, to his wife and children and never seen Katy again. As it is, his life, his wife’s life and that of the children have been wrecked forever.

People will do what they want to do regardless of the situation, so one except the consequences of their actions good or bad.
