@charlottechaze How to break into tech with data analytics and hit six figures! This is what worked for me: teach yourself in-demand skills and apply for jobs even if you think you’re not qualified, because you may get an offer. Continue to get better at it on the job to get promotions and more job offers. #breakintotech #dataanalytics #careercoach #careeradvice #salarytransparency #sixfigures #6figures #worktok #jobtok #research #quityourjob #quietquitting #9to5 ♬ original sound – Charlotte | Break Into Tech

She continued sharing videos assuring viewers that anyone can follow her career trajectory

@charlottechaze You can break into tech if you believe in yourself enough to try! Take a chance on yourself. And noted that prior experience in the field is not necessary

@charlottechaze How to break into tech with no experience! Many of my students have used this strategy to get a tech job with no degree. If YOU want to get a job in tech, do this to make it easy for recruiters to see that you’re a good candidate. #breakintotech #techjob #howto #jobapplicationtips #linkedin #linkedintips #resumetips #resume #noexperience #nodegree #educational #career #careeradvice #techtoktips #techcareer #dataanalytics #dataanalyst ♬ original sound – Charlotte | Break Into Tech

The tech industry often sounds like a frightening place with lots of gates and fences that are rarely ever opened to let anyone new in. The fact is, however, that the field is rapidly growing. As of September 2022, employment in the tech industry is already 46% ahead of 2021 and 92% ahead of 2019. So even if you have never worked in the field before, there is no reason to count yourself out. As Charlotte explained, it only took her 4 years to climb up the ladder enough to start making 6 figures. There are certainly entry-level tech jobs available for whoever is willing to work hard and learn new skills.

And as Charlotte also noted, we should never put limitations on ourselves when applying for jobs. Often times, the “requirements” for a position are not set in stone, so you might be able to learn the necessary skills while on the job. Highlight the skills you do have, and show that you’re willing to learn. As Sarah Liu, founder and managing director of The Dream Collective, told Urban List, “Technology companies are aiming to solve big problems, so focus on their larger mission when considering a new role and assess how your current skills and strengths can help these companies achieve or further their mission.”

Sometimes, it can even give you an advantage to be an outsider to the tech field. According to research from Glassdoor, 43% of positions advertised by tech companies are actually non-technical, meaning you do not need to understand tech lingo or have any specific degree to get hired. “In fact, this could work to your advantage,” Sarah Liu says. “Many companies we work with are interested in candidates from a non-tech background, particularly for sales teams, as they bring a different perspective to how they communicate technology.”

The tech industry is rapidly evolving and growing, and while not everyone may be interested in joining, there is plenty of room for people who are determined, willing to learn and happy to apply for positions they might not be qualified for on paper. Let us know in the comments how you managed to advance your career if you work in the tech industry, and then if you’re interested in checking out even more tech career advice from Charlotte, you can find her TikTok account right here

Howdy, I'm Adelaide! I'm originally from Texas, but after graduating from university with an acting degree, I relocated to sunny Los Angeles for a while. I then got a serious bite from the travel bug and found myself moving to Sweden and England before settling in Lithuania about two years ago. I'm passionate about animal welfare, sustainability and eating delicious food. But as you can see, I cover a wide range of topics including drama, internet trends and hilarious memes. I can easily be won over with a Seinfeld reference, vegan pastry or glass of fresh cold brew. And during my free time, I can usually be seen strolling through a park, playing tennis or baking something tasty.

Oh dear Lord. Stop already with this bs...First of all the story seems to missing the most crucial point. She has a degree already. And second of all all of these stories are so out of touch. They potray these "'opportunities"' as if it's something that anyone can pursue. Do I need to say more? Honestly....

I was leisurely reading through all this until I saw she sell her own course now. It's become a plague. Also, why would she need to sell a course if she makes so much money?

I dislike the fact that she still makes it seem like you need a college degree to get a job that pays well. I was a high school drop out and went from making $10 an hour to making my current level, which is just over $225k in less than four years. Anyone can make good money if they've got the determination to do so.
