22-year-old Millie Wang married her Chinese husband at 19, and has since been documenting her life as a “trad wife”. But it is the revelation that she left her native Britain to meet her husband for the first time as a teenager that has left people baffled in recent days.

Taking to her TikTok page on March 16, Millie uploaded a video where she first filmed herself, seemingly pondering about her past, before cutting to multiple clips that highlighted her relationship with her husband, including a zoom-in on an engagement ring and the couple embracing.

In the video, which has since gone viral, amassing 1.9 million views, Millie added a text that read: “Me at 17: I’m so scared to go to China alone to meet him, what if something bad happens.

In the caption of the video, the TikToker wrote: “Do I recommend running away from home, meeting a boy you’ve been dating online and immediately moving in together?

“In most instances, no.

“BUT did meeting my husband allow me to experience an entirely new world, find my passions, brought myself out of my darkest mental space, give me hope for the future, and overall make me a happier and better person?

“Yes.”

In the comment section of her video, the content creator admitted that she would never want her potential future daughter “to do something like this” but that in her case, it had “worked out very well.”

Replying to various questions from her viewers, Millie confessed that she was currently “enjoying life with my hot biker husband who treats me like a queen and expects nothing in return.”

She went on to provide more insights into the backstory of her marriage, revealing that her spouse had randomly messaged her one day, and “now we’re married and living together in Australia.”

In more stunning revelations, Millie said that when she was 17 and had traveled to meet her future husband in China for the first time, her parents were kept in the dark.

According to her YouTube channel, where she uploads videos about her life in Australia and her best efforts to learn her husband’s language, Millie married at 19, and has been living as a trad wife ever since.

Some of Millie’s videos have been dedicated to showcasing her life as a young and unemployed married woman, with titles like “Day in the life of a homemaker, Cleaning, making mantou, learning embroidery.”
