Honestly is sounds like the guy was just joking and people are taking him too seriously.

Men and women both get cluster headaches and they have been described many times as "one of the worst pains a person can experience" and are said by female sufferers to be worse than childbirth. This man is being a wuss, yes, but cluster headaches have beaten broken bones, grazed-off skin, burns, nerve pain, endometriosis, operations on various parts of me... I'll probably get accused of going 'off point' by some pedant but here is a pain which is generally considered to be the worst and men get them too. There is pain that 'levels the playing field'.

Why does the introductory post have to include "(cis) men"? Is it just trying to be inflammatory?

I agree with the original comment that the photo does not look like an adult footballer's knee - more like a woman. Hairless pale and softer. I wonder how smal his ACTUAL scrape was? I used to have horrendous pain that laid me up for a couple of days most months as well as dysmenorrhea. I would gladly have swapped ONE period for a scraped knee, the pain would be less and would be gone in the same length of time.

Apparently scraped knees cause pelvic dislocation, internal muscle spasms, the expulsion of congealed blood and rotting tissue(with a possibility of Toxic Shock under certain circumstances), massive hormone storm, possible diarrhoea, and internal anxiety and humiliation over having to go about daily life as if nothing is different. For anywhere between 3-7(sometimes more). Roughly every month. For decades. Oh, you scraped a few layers of skin off your knee? And will be given dressings and painkillers and sympathy from everyone? Dude is so wrong... I would think it would be like getting kicked in the balls for 24 hours daily until the period is over. I have had ex wifes and many girlfriends. It was never good for them or me. Periods are very evil...

i went back to work one day later, after having avoided a heart attack by having an artery scraped by a wire. if poor baby wants his dummy placed back in his pram i'm sure there are people out there that can accomodate this delicate snowflake

My friend fell off her bike, skinned both knees/calves and her hands then ran a 200m and 400m sprint the next morning. I was tackled in rugby and dislocated my knee, was walking within the hour and went back to school and played rugby again the next day. I have also sprained my ankle over ten times and had whooping cough. Another friend has broken her arm three times. None of those injuries were as painful as the cramps we experience. Also I dislocated my knee again the other day, don't worry I'm fine.

Does this dude honestly think that somehow women have never experienced a scraped knee? Even if this was a joke, women have been treated like jokes ever since forever. We don't find it funny.

I watch my wife go through period pains on a regular basis, I feel so sorry for her and, wish there was something I could do to ease her suffering and yet, regrettably, I only understand the half of it so, period pains? No thanks, don't think I could handle that. I think I'll opt for the scrape on the knee.

When I was 8 I skidded on my bike over loose gravel on the road. I was wearing shorts at the time and I skinned both my legs front and back and then had to walk home with my legs bleeding. A year later I picked up a cat to bring home because I wanted to show her to my cat loving sister. When the cat saw my dog in her bid to get away she clawed my face to ribbons just narrowingly missing my eyes. The absolute pain I experienced in those incidences pales in comparison to my period pain.

I cut my knees open once by sliding along ashfelt and I still have the scars, but my period pains are still worse.
