If you think you take too much time to get ready in the morning, wait till you meet this young woman who dresses to impress in a very unusual way. Mila Povoroznyuk from Ukraine, who is known to her fans as your_sunny_flowers, has ditched all modern fashion trends to follow her own aesthetic that makes her look like she came back from the 19th century.
Every day, Povoroznyuk pulls off a full-blown head-to-toe look including long vintage dresses, corsets, puffed blouses, elegant top hats and footwear, intricate accessories, hairstyle, and makeup to become a living representation of 19th-century fashion.

12 years ago, Povoroznyuk got involved in the movement of historical reconstruction. She started sewing her own outfits for various occasions, from medieval festivals to 18th and 19th-century balls. For around two years now, she has been wearing vintage outfits every day.
"The first piece of clothing in the style of the 19th century which I started wearing in my everyday life was a blue autumn coat. It was made 8 years ago. I naturally started selecting harmonious things that would go with it. My wardrobe was gradually filling with vintage items," Povoroznyuk told Bored Panda.
Povoroznyuk finds inspiration for her wardrobe on Pinterest, Google, and old magazines with dresses from that era. She sews and thrifts her vintage attire, which makes her one-of-a-kind outfits stand out in a crowd (not that 19th and 20th-century-inspired clothes are a common sight on the streets in modern times). She finds her accessories from like-minded people's personal collections and flea markets. Her unique style makes her comfortable and confident and that's all that matters. Although Povoroznyuk often gets weird looks in the streets, her sense of style has brought her internet fame—she already has 69k followers on Instagram and her short videos on TikTok have millions of views.
Povoroznyuk admires Victorian fashion, but the Edwardian era from the early 1900s is her favorite.
"The suffragette movements began during that period. I think that all women should be grateful for this period for the rights and opportunities that we have today.
"Povoroznyuk says that she likes all the clothes she owns as she chooses them carefully. The most uncomfortable one, though, is the modern bra and most women could relate to that.
If you have ever tried cosplay or bought a costume, you would assume that dressing like that would cost a fortune, but since Povoroznyuk hand-crafts most of the clothes, she would disagree. Although she says that it often depends on the outfit and can sometimes be pretty costly.
"Everything is very relative. I have outfits that cost me less than $10 because I sew them by myself out of fabric I found in a second-hand store. I also have really expensive ones because I buy expensive fabric and visit a seamstress."
When we asked Povoroznyuk how people react to her unique appearance on a daily basis, she had a lot to say.
"Everyone reacts in accordance with their upbringing and their level of psycho-emotional development. It should be added that a person's reaction to a stimulus (light, noise, a person in unusual clothes) is influenced by temperament, character, mentality."
She could divide people she meets into several groups. The first group "includes people with a high level of intelligence and psycho-emotional development. Such people are well-mannered, mature, tolerant. They have a sense of both self-esteem and respect for others, regardless of age or social status." Although they might not have a soft spot for vintage, they would react with the understanding that everyone "has every right to express themselves." Those who like vintage, on the other hand, would often not show any reaction and respect the boundaries of personal space or won't hesitate to compliment if they are more open-minded.
Another group is not so tolerant, but Povoroznyuk says she doesn't take it to heart as she wouldn't be offended at a dog who barks at her.
"Unfortunately, in our world, there are a lot of people who are uneducated and psycho-emotionally immature, and due to various reasons, they have not yet mastered at least minimal foundations of ethics and respect for other people. There are also people with low IQ levels. These features can also be combined in one person. The reaction of such people is not only negative but also pronounced (due to a lack of education). It manifests in different ways—from laughter to vile comments and assaults."
I know this article is about the girl, and she is great, but the doggo is SOOOOOOO FLUFFY
Oooh, racy! People were shocked in the 19th century when they saw ladies wearing bloomers!
If you ask Povoroznyuk why she dresses like it's the 19th century, the answer will be quite simple and straightforward—because she likes it and wants to. She advises other people who would like to express themselves through clothing but are too afraid of judgment to follow her example: "Life is too short to be wasted in fear. You need to live for yourself and not think about what others will think about you."
More of a 20th century dress I'd have thought. 1920's perhaps, or 30's.
this is my style.... I would wear stuff like this every day if it was not so uncomfortable. they are not bad, they are just not built for my body.
These are lovely but they are not the outfits or someone who does housework.
There are girls like her, putting so mush effort in their appearance. And then there's me, yesterday when I was at work I realized that I put on my socks inside out.
I sympathize with you, I worked outside in forests for 10+ years and never bothered with my appearance. And now when I do want to look nice, I don't really remember how... : /
Load More Replies...These dresses are soo amazing! I love the fact she wears one every day, that is fierce!!
The reality is that, had she lived in the Victorian/Edwardian era, she would have had one dress for day to day wear and, maybe, a dress for best. Those who would have had clothes such as these would have been the wealthiest and a very small proportion of the population.
Can you imagine if we were slowly going back to that style? how exciting that would be! •ᴗ•
All fun and games till the corset and ankle outrage stuff.... so no Also my minion pajamas would take offence
Load More Replies...Be careful what you wish for. As a costume for a few hours, it’s OK. All day? Unbearable! I mean, you do know that, just about 100 years ago, women were breathing a collective sigh of relief to finally be liberated from their restrictive corsets, right? I’ve worn them with period costumes and let me tell you, they’re damned uncomfortable. You can’t take full breaths because they’re so tight. You can’t even get dressed by yourself because someone has to lace you into the thing. They’re hot as hell in warm weather, especially since you’re also wearing a chemise, pantalets (bloomer-like cotton underwear), corset cover, maybe a hoop (depending on which part of the Victorian era), and layer upon layer of petticoats—-all UNDER your dress or skirt, shirt, and jacket! No wonder women of the time fainted so much.
My grandmother was born in 1892 and when she was very old we were talking about "the good old days". I said something about the clothes looking so pretty and she replied "give me polyester and automatic washing machines any day" lol. I guess she remembered all those laundry days! She died in 1996, aged 104. <3
No, women were not wearing a collective sigh, because there was no need to be "liberated" from corsets. There is a very persistent myth today that all corsets were tied so tight women could barely breathe. But that isn't true. Working women wore them too and they did a lot of physical work in corsets. Corsets were a supporting garment, that was not uncomfortable. Only a tiny sliver of upper class women took it to an extreme.
Women actually didn't faint because of corsets, it was because of their diets and many other factors, though corsets could sometimes be a factor, also many 'period' costumes are wildly inaccurate especially with undergarments. I would agree with your statement about it being uncomfortable, but I'm sure you get used to it after a bit.
A lovely girl. I wish we could all be more like her, looking beautiful but not caring about people judging her clothes, y’know? Also she reminds me of Mary Poppins <3
A few more pictures would be nice, how she shops in such clothes or does trivial things. In any case, she seems to feel comfortable in them. Do you know Cranford, Downton Abbey, The Paradise or Mr Selfridge? I think I'm going to watch them again. Thanks for the inspiration.
THEY ARE SO ACCURATE GJEUVSYWJ82783BE !!! She makes them herself but buying the accessories like stockings and corsets etc must be a real pain. I'm sure she tries to monetise off her blog or something, those are all blog worthy pictures
I love this photos, she is so naturally pretty and she isn't trying to force the instagram look. I would love that such fashion would come back, but i am not sure if it's really practical for modern life, and it would probably cost a lot to make it. Where does she find those, i wonder. Thank you.
Almost makes you wish you could step back in time ... with her full wardrobe, of course! Enjoyed the beautiful pictures - so refreshing!
This woman is beautiful beyond my meager ability to describe. She is so feminine in theses garments that I could look at her for hours and dream of a time when women looked like this. I admire her hats and shoes as well and wonder where she obtained them. The hairstyles are stunning. Her photographer deserves credit for these wonderful photos. No garish tattoos, piercings, ghetto stilettos, or holes in the ear lobes like modern “liberated” women that are displayed to us. I wish I lived back in the time when women were feminine and cared about their public appearance.
Yes, they are pretty. But... does it not strike anyone that you'd have to be a millionaire to afford all these dresses? It's not like they're on the bargain rack at Marshall's. Plus, for personal reasons, these shots make me itch. I am a jeans and t-shirt gal and have always been one. I can't even imagine.
Really like the gorgeous clothes, really hate the kitsch presentation. When will this tasteless and boring instagramm crap ever end???
I am happy to see yet another person who has no real financial commitment and can devote herself to her hobby. At least this girl has a different idea than the prevailing canons and is committed to realizing her aesthetic dream. In any case, always better than the usual photos in the pool with the ass in the foreground.
Love these clothes! I would really wanna do this as well but damn most of these outfits are expensive. My collection is slowly growing tho so I hope that one day I can also wear these clothes as my daily outfit.
The first questions I have are: Where does she store all these clothes and how much does she have to spend for all the materials?
Are we really supposed to believe she dresses like this "every day" and then magically gets posed photos of her taken as she goes about her day to day business of picking sunflowers in fields, lounging around riversides and staring wistfully into the distance?

What many see as a quirky woman with fashion sense I see a woman flaunting her income and posing for staged photos during a pandemic.
