Instagram Model Uploads Her Pic To R/Roastme, Deletes Account After One Comment Goes Too Far
The internet can be a cruel place, and most of us try to avoid nastiness if possible – however, in one subreddit group, people go to seek it out, and things can get ugly. Instagram influencer Niece Waidhoifer went to the subreddit group r/Roast Me to post a picture of herself holding up a sign that read “r/Roast Me,” in what some thought was an attempt at fishing for compliments.
As someone with 958k Instagram followers, Waidhoifer must already know what kind of mean-spirited, hurtful words flow in the comment sections of the internet – but one user reminded her with a judgmental roast some people felt went too far.
Instagram model Niece Waidhoifer went to the subreddit r/Roast Me to get some funny disses thrown her way but one comment she received caught her attention

Most people in the group simply roast based on appearance since not most of the people are unknown, and there is nothing to judge their personality on. The group description reads: “Hone your roasting skills, meet other roasters, and get yourself roasted! Everybody needs to laugh at themselves! And other people, of course!” Well, a user by the name ‘paross’ decided to roast below the belt – and it’s safe to say the Instagram model wasn’t laughing.
After the comment, the model deleted her Reddit account – but then posted a response to the situation on her Instagram

“Alright guys, let’s have a talk. First of all, don’t worry, I’m all good, no need to send condolences to my family, haha. Yes, I did ask for this.
Yes, I totally freaked out and deleted my Reddit account; my dumb ass used my Instagram username, and judging by the flood of deeply disturbing/visually penisgraphic DMs I was getting, I did not want to lead them here. I see you found me anyway. Hi Reddit! To the people who thought I was just fishing: on r/RoastMe? …wut.
To the “ex” who posted: It doesn’t sound like we’ve ever met; also, you spelled my name wrong… #IbeforeEexceptafterC. So, in summary, I am a dumbass, and I make Reddit really, really angry.
Thank you to the majority of commenters, who were actually funny, and thank you to all the nice people who had my back against the rude people who just got excited about a free pass to use the “c” word. Love you guys.”
Many people in the comments were supportive of Waidhoifer and agreed the comment wasn’t funny

Share on FacebookShe said "Roast Me" she openly requested that people point out whatever flaws they perceive. He did just that. In my opinion, if you put yourself out there on social media you open yourself up to criticism, and people can be so cruel. If you don't like it, stay away. My life is social media free.
All these people lying to themselves, makes me sad. The guy was SPOT-ON but people just can't handle it. These "models" get treated like they're the pinnacle of feminism, while they're just exploiting their supposed good looks and keep objectifying themselves, that's not "freedom" that's not "feminism". It's capitalism, prostitution and sexism.
The rude comment have a raw truth which touched the hidden insecurity of this young woman. And I think is a comment for all who request "roast me”. In my opinion a person who meets the standards of beauty, as fashion, media and society imposes on them, when he asks "roast me" in essence does not wait for negative comments. Through funny comments he will get the confirmation of his beauty. If a person does not meet the beauty standards and asks for it to "roast", he may be looking for comments that will confirm his negative thoughts about his external beauty. So I would do if there was an internet at the time I was a teenager. I did not meet the beauty standards and if I put a photo I would expect confirmation of my negative thoughts, or a comment of hope that I'm not that ugly like I was seeing myself in the mirror. What a waste of energy and time !
My first thought (in headline form): Woman requests to be roasted, deletes acount after someone does so.
Load More Replies...Let's be honest she went on the suggest it the same reason she posted here..for the attention. She figured she is so pretty that any shot at her looks in a roast would be playful at best. The commenter is correct..she is very insecure about her looks, her need to be the center of the world...it was probably the best way to wake her up..life isn't fair and beauty fades
A very insightful roast and completely accurate. When you spend all your energy seeking attention from strangers on the internet, what kind of person are you really? This girl would probably wither and be lost without it. She's come to depend on it like air. And it's all an illusion.
What did she expect? Second..how shallow is she that she belongs to a group that rips people soley on appearance Third..this commenter is right. Good looking people are given things in life..including the ability to gain wealth, power, security by simply marrying it.. then when the looks fade..
"Good looking women are given things in life" FIFY. Good looking men, except maybe very very few, are given things in life.
Load More Replies...If you want attention, you get it. No damage control can change that anymore. Internet won't forget, lol.
I have never understood the roast me trend. Like... go ahead and make me feel bad about myself? Aren't there more than enough opportunities in real life?
Attention seeker. Literally She got a punch in the gut and then didn't like it.
She asked for it, the guy went too far, but she got what she asked for
Everyone who is like her should read and digest that roast because it spells it all out perfectly.
Funny to see all they guys acting supportive because they secretly want to get into her pants. The whole comment list is just a confirmation of what paross so eloquently wrote.
I really shouldn't say this, and I know I'm going to get a lot of downvotes, and also reply to this comment because I want to see how others react to my reaction after reading most of these comments. : Bored Panda sucks these days. People are so rude. People hate attractive people. People hate insecure people. People agree with the people who hurt other people. I'm just so tired of this. I don't know what to do. Nobody really understands if they're not that person who gets hurt.
So you invite people to insult you on the internet and when it happens you are a victim? Seems to me that a lot of people should be banned from the internet.
If you want to be roasted, deal with the roast. Don't expect to people be nice with X person just because X has certain amount of """Fame""". Even less on the internet were people goes sicko mode because of the anonymity
What is this s**t here on BoredPanda? I don't want to see meaningless posts like this.
"Roast" colloquially means "insult" and "belittle." I'd say the bitter screed fulfilled the request.
Oh my god, literally the entire point of the whole subreddit is exactly BS like that comment. Of course people are going to 'take it too far' and not just do cute little quips. It's the internet. If anything I'm moreso amazed at the people that take it seriously - have you never read comments sections? Oof. People are terrible, their opinions don't matter, have a thick skin. Take care of yourself. If you can't take anything people can (and will) dish at you - don't go looking for it.
I think the roast was absolutely true of her and other Instagram "influencers". I think the fact that she deleted it means she was hurt by it. It takes a lot of confidence to ask strangers to roast yourself.
This story is over two years old, why is this just being posted now? Not to mention this is all stupidity to begin with.
Her "model" job isn't going so well, so she needs more exposer?
Load More Replies...Sad thing is now looking back on this, it’s even sadder knowing she’s dead and it’s because she killed herself. Probably because of a$$holes like this with no life and nothing better to do but sit behind their computer and write the most hatful thing they can thing of for their own sick amusement. RIP you poor, beautiful, sweet babe of a woman.
Roasting according to the official subreddit: "Roasting (v.) - To humorously mock or humiliate someone with a well-timed joke, diss or comeback. (As defined by urbandictionary) Hone your roasting skills, meet other roasters, and get yourself roasted! Everybody needs to laugh at themselves! And other people, of course!" See that people? The words are joke, humor, and laugh. Nowhere does it say anything about attempting to mentally mess people up through deep psychological cruelty and the "roast" wasn't humorous in the least. Y'all miss the point entirely
I before e except after c isn't true either, why they teach that to children i will never know.
Yes, every post on social media is a form of attention-seeking. Every selfie, every tweet, every "roast me" request. But guess what? Every post denouncing and exposing attention-seeking and consumerist culture is also attention-seeking and a product of consumerist culture. It's a vicious circle.
Mocking people for seeking attention while pretending that you wrote this whole rant not for attention. Perfect plan.
I am impressed and a bit stunned by how, honestly, it could be true and how crushing badass commenter was. Not good but don't go to R̶u̶s̶s̶i̶a̶ the forest if you're afraid of P̶u̶t̶i̶n̶ bears
Truth hurts.... She comes across as a dumb b***h. Don't ask to be roasted if you don't want to be roasted, dummy.
She DID ask for it. Looks like she was looking for compliments so boost her low self-esteem.
Honestly i kinda agree with the comment.....i just wouldn't say that all out loud.
It's not i before e except after c, all the time. My last name proves that
I understand that there is a chance this person is right, and I honestly have no care for either side of this story. But, perhaps some things are simply better off unsaid. I know this is the classic "if you don't have anything good to say.." thing, but I just feel like it was the slightest bit rude to insult someone's personality. Besides, people like how the commenter described rarely change, so it is a tad pointless..? I can see the points from either side, though.aatad..pointlessBut again,
I generally agree with the "if you don't have anything good to say.." But this was on the r/roastme sub. The whole point of it is for people to say something NOT good. There's no saving this one, she was asking for it.
Load More Replies...I mean she clearly has got the looks so what else were people gunna roast? I know they don’t know her personally but I’m assuming she knows well enough there isn’t much to roast physically hence why she posted

The reddit 'Roast Me' is stupid because a proper Roast is done from people who actually know you or know of you. To properly Roast someone you should at least know them for a while; not just by the picture they're posting. Where is the fun in that?
Sigh. People, r/Roastme is a subreddit for humour. Persons post pictures of themselves, whether they look like a model or a hobo, and redditors comment a clever insult based on appearances. Example: This one where someone pokes fun on Markiplier, a successful youtuber. People post pictures for different reasons. Some feel confident nothing could get them down. Some love to poke fun at themselves. The motives of the poster vary from person to person. The Instagram model's motives are unknown, and assuming she was fishing for compliments shows that you know nothing about the subreddit or what the word 'roast' means. That person definitely went too far and it shocks me how much people here are justifying it because they don't know what roasting is. 5b78d6425f...0-jpeg.jpg
Just another guy who hates beautiful women because he can't get one.
Umm isn't that app full of malware and nasty viruses? Been all over the media. Why would you be luring people there especially you posting in a place that has nothing to do with what your writing spelling out SCAM immediately...
Load More Replies...that's a bit... sexist... most of the girls I know don't like attention and keep to themselves. I can understand a few rich snobs, but I'm sure a guy would be hurt if someone bandwagons all guys for something bad?
