Someone Shares An Illustration On How Much Harder It Is For Women In The Workplace, Man Responds With His Edited Version
Billionaire businessman Anand Mahindra recently had to babysit his one-year-old grandkid. In just a week, this experience made him recognize that women require much more effort to succeed than men. So much so, that he even shared this realization with his 8 million Twitter followers. Mahindra even added an eye-opening cartoon to his tweet to further illustrate his point.
The image shows three businessmen and three businesswomen lined up for a race on a track. The men have no hurdles in front of them, but the women have laundry, cooking and household chores in front of their paths. Mahindra said he “salute(s) every working woman & acknowledge(s) that their successes have required a much greater amount of effort than their male counterparts.” However, some men were offended by his tweet.

The thought-provoking image was drawn by Peruvian political cartoonist, Carlin, who draws a regular panel for Peru publication, La Republica.
Plenty of evidence supports it, too. A recent study, for example, shows that fathers experience more happiness from parenthood than mothers. And that’s mainly because they have more time and space to continue other activities in the world around them and have fewer responsibilities at home. Researchers looked at measures of well-being that included happiness, well-being, depressive symptoms, psychological satisfaction, and stress, and concluded that gender significantly impacted the association between childcare and happiness — men were happier while caring for their children, while women were less happy.

Another fresh study found that although most women work outside the home and most men now at least pitch in on chores, the majority of women still handle the bulk of a home’s “invisible labor” – tasks like making sure the kids get new sneakers or lining up a babysitter for an evening out. It also added that women who were burdened with these tasks reported feeling overwhelmed and empty.
The reactions to the cartoon are mostly a mix of women showing their appreciation for their household tasks and emotional labor and mental load being acknowledged, and men who were like, “Hey, I did the dishes last week, what gives?”
Which sparked a heated debate on whether or not women and men have the same opportunities

Did... did that one dude really compare pregnancy to "carrying" sperm??
Also sperm only last for like 2 months tops before they are reabsorbed into the body and replaced xD Dude literally had no idea what he was talking about haha
Load More Replies...I don't understand men who get offended by these types of things. If it truly doesn't describe you, congrats, you are part of the solution. If it is hitting too close to home, maybe reevaluate your contributions at home. Maybe if you can't or WON'T help out more at home, you can afford to outsource some housework. If you can afford outsourcing the work, don't complain about housework. Be a part of the solution instead of whining that the problem makes you uncomfortable
I do not understand why pretty much all commenters take a caricature for a fact, and for a generalization, i.e. imply that the three women there represent *all* women and the three men *all* men. By doing so, you suffocate any discussion on gender equality before it even started.
Load More Replies...LOL some of these comments are living jokes :D Why women tend to do all house work? Coz many men were raised wrongly, have no skills, have no motivation, no focus, nor organisational skills or simply are lazy. Besides that women "usually" are left with all the work, they have to micromanage their partners, who sometimes fail at basic household tasks. Trying to get them do a simple job requires repeating 10 times, instructing, then showing, then re-doing it by yourself. So it is much easier just to friggin do that task yourself!!! That's why many women feel better of without a man.
Haven’t you ever acted like you were really bad at something just to get out of having to do it? We all have, though most of us grow out of it at some point in our teens. That’s the strategy some men—-the ones with low self-esteem and/or other issues—-use so women will give up and do it themselves. The reason? Because housework and childcare have traditionally been woman’s work, so is beneath them—-which is stupid, because the trend toward marrying and having children later in life (in our thirties instead of our teens) means both women AND men will have their own homes before marriage. Those homes will need to be cleaned, the men will need to feed themselves and do their dishes, and the laundry will still have to be done (you can only turn your tightly-whiteys dirty side out once). It only makes sense for men to learn how to cook and clean. Same thing goes for women and car repair, minor household repairs, etc. Additionally, many men end up as single fathers, so learning how to take care of children makes sense as well.
