Winnats Pass in the Peak District is part of a huge valley with towering cliffs. The valley and caves were formed when the ice melted from the ice age, leaving behind huge valleys and caverns.
The whole area was once under the sea, and even today, in many of the rocks, you can see fossils when out hiking.
I visited a cave known as Horse Shoe Cave. It is around 126 metres deep, and it has recently had part of the roof collapse.
For that reason, there have been chains installed to let hikers and explorers like myself know not to go further in the cave without experience and the right equipment, which is why I stayed in the first part of the cave to get a quick video and have a look around.
My visit there was during the recent storm Babet we had in England, so venturing further into a cave was not wise.
