It normal where I come from to call people "luv" or a diminutive of your name. Makes me feel at home. In different regions they might call you "duck" or "honeychile", and I'm happy with all of them

I hate that this kindness has been taken away from us in great part by people who are offended by the kindness offered. When we look at people's intentions, we can see their kindness aren't attacks. I miss hearing these endearments scattered here and there to brighten my days, personally.

😒 adult me taught by my mother to recognize pet names as trashy and condescending. But parrots are cute and people pretending they care about you by addressing you as a child are endearing. Could only get better if it were a man telling me to smile.
