Cat's Café, a comic series written and illustrated by me, Matt Tarpley, tackles the experiences of life one cup of coffee (or tea!) at a time. As a guest at Cat's Café, you’ll get to meet a slew of lovable characters and discover their lives are strikingly similar to our own. Starring Cat (the owner of the cafe), Rabbit, Penguin, and other animals, these loveable characters explore important topics such as anxiety, diversity, and empowerment with a thoughtful touch.
Providing service with a heart-shaped smile, Cat is the owner of the cafe and works hard to brighten the day of every guest. Cat has a seemingly magical ability to meet the needs of every special guest.
Rabbit bounds around the cafe assisting Cat with the day to day duties. As Cat’s apprentice, Rabbit not only learns the ropes of brewing delicious beverages but also how to overcome their own anxiety.
Penguin is lifelong friends with Cat and a coffee fiend. Always the first one through the door, Penguin cannot start their day without a visit to Cat's Café.
Kiwi is a kiwi. Only says ‘kiwi’. Best buds with Penguin.
There are many more friends to meet, such as Opossum, Axel, and Chipper the intense chipmunk, each with their own story to tell. So, grab your favorite mug and blanket, and cozy up at Cat's Café.
Created from a place of empathy, I set out to tell relatable stories with healthy and positive outcomes. Knowing we all experience life in different ways, I felt it was important to define Cat's Café as a comic that promotes acceptance and understanding. Check out the previous part here!

I put an 'immigrants welcome' sign at my local laundromat (a pic of Wonder Woman explaining that the Bill of Rights is for everyone) and I'm pleasantly surprised to say, 1-1/2 years later it's still there, and it hasn't been defaced.

I want this or a similar sign in front of my vet's office in the future. It will be advertised as Christian, but I don't want people thinking that Christians are discriminatory or prejudiced. Christianity is a religion of love for everyone, regardless of gender, skin tone, identification, or orientation.
