How many times have you thought to yourself ‘no, don’t go there!’ or ‘don’t do that!’ while watching horror movies? Well, pretty much every horror movie plot relies on characters who ignore all of the obvious warning signs and puts themselves into danger. Spoiler alert: it usually ends badly for them.
Fortunately, in real life, people don’t always make such fatal mistakes. Take for instance Tumblr user Teaboot, who grew up surrounded by woods in Northen Canada. She shared a post with 16 dangerous situations where she could have been that ‘white girl’ from horror movies, but instead, she managed to save herself.
“I have a weird family with a weird history that lives in a weird area and does weird stuff. Fact is, that just leads to weird situations. Trying to explain it wouldn’t make any of it sound less strange,” she told Bored Panda. When asked what her best advice for other would be, she reposed by saying “‘Does it sound like something that could get you hurt or killed? If Yes, don’t do that.” Or at the very least, figure out WHY it would be dangerous, and take steps to prevent it. Do you believe demons are real and can eat your face? Don’t go poking the supernatural with a stick. That’s not to say, “Barricade yourself in your house, lock the doors and windows, light a prayer candle and never go outside again”, that’s just… Bring a buddy. Know your own comfort zone. Simple stuff, like drinking water and talking to people you trust.”

Share on FacebookI like how she treats all of these situations like they aren't really f*cking terrifying. She's like, "Cannibal cat? I'll just put him out. No biggie." "Guy chasing me through the woods? Oh, I'll just hide." If I were her, I'd be too traumatized about most of these things to post about them.
It's all in the attitude - I friend of mine (girl) once met some pervert in a long coat hidden in the bushes around a playground. As far as I remember the guy was naked under the coat and when he saw her he opened the coat and started masturbating. Her reaction was priceless - she told me that she looked at his thingy and then started laughing so hard, that poor guy just ran away.
