A while ago I posed the question, "What Makes You Really Angry?" here on Bored Panda. To be honest, I braced myself for a deluge of personal grievances... What I received, however, was a rather good outlook on our modern society. To me, it became clear that our anger, varied as it is, intertwines to form a map of societal concerns that are often topics of great importance.
As I said before, I wasn't quite prepared for the overwhelming surge of responses that poured into the thread. I would love to thank everyone for their answers and opinions!

Men thinking they have any right to decide what a woman can and can't do with her own body.
I am so shocked at how the USA just stepped back in time. ,50 years back. Nothing good is going to come from this, NOTHING.
It's depressing, but not really shocking. I was born, and spent the first 27 years of my life living all across the US. The quality and intelligence of the average american has decreased sharply in the 38 years i've been alive, while entitlement, willful ignorance and aggression have been steadily rising. Americans are brought up to believe that america is the greatest, bestest most number one-ingest country in the world despite so much evidence to the contrary. It's a $hit show, and the worse everything gets, the more people allow themselves to be distracted by unimportant bull$hit that plays on peoples outrage, so nefarious, damaging stuff like this can be maneuvered into place. It's embarrassing, it's shameful, but for anyone that's been paying attention it's also expected.
Load More Replies...Let's cut the BS here 40% of women who voted in the last two elections feel the same way. I hate to say this but looks it's going to happen again in 2024. You can't complain about the democracy you refuse to participate in.
brainwashing exists, caused by that delusional religion
Load More Replies...They haven't gotten rid of abortions. They have gotten rid of SAFE abortions.
Hey “pro-lifers”, isn’t it funny how a child’s safety only matters to you when it wouldn’t interfere with any of your other desires? You’d want to save children from school shootings, but oh! Having your guns is more important than that.
They are anything but pro-life; they are anti-choice, pro-forced birth, and pro-control but they are never pro-life. If they were pro-life they would care about homeless, sick, and hungry with same vigor they care about a blood clot. Sooner we start calling them with their true self the better.
Load More Replies...Agreed that men contribute to the problem, but let's not blame men for everything. Women are part of the anti-abortion movement too.
Given men are surgically transitioning to become women, maybe this should be, "No uterus or ovaries, no opinion?"
Load More Replies...And this is why I'm THRILLED Issue 1 failed in Ohio yesterday. This November there is a vote to add reproductive rights to our ballot. The pro-lifers tried to circumvent Ohioans voting for it by raising the bar to passage. It is my hope Ohio will once again have safe, legal abortion again. No woman should be forced to bear a child that either threatens their health or is unable to provide for due to circumstances beyond their control.
Kind of agree with this. Although I have my own views on abortion, as a man I don't really feel it's within my purview to have an opinion about it. And it seems strange that this decision was made mostly by old white men
I don't actually. I really wish the Supreme Court would have just left this one alone. Terrible. Now lets get rid of selective service, I have 4 sons and 1 daughter all under the age of 22. World is looking a little rough right about now and the idea that the government can draft my kids into doing their BS is just to scary.
This issue is to detract from real issues, like housing, wages and mass shootings. Get people riled up about a pea sized fetus and they lose their minds. On the other side, it has caused more women to stand up and be heard. They're trying to push us back in the kitchen but they're gonna get burned.
Try to force MY daughters to give birth if they don't want to? This country deserves the consequences coming to it.
Yes we too can be as crowded as India. God I love crowds, long lines to get anything done, and general poor quality living due to overpopulation. All the extra competition for dwindling resources in a country that can barely maintain food and housing availability. Go Third World America! I can't wait!
Republicans- keeping things in the dark ages for the masses while hoarding wealth and feeding the greed of the 1%
It's like the USA government is trying to do everything opposite or contradictory from Canada. It really does seem like that, sometimes. Canada has all options here and legalized weed. Even though some states have legalized weed, the majority still have it illegal, including for medical purposes. Abortions are not only legal and available throughout Canada but are funded by the provincial health benefits. The USA just made it illegal, at all. Legal drinking age in Canada is 18/19. In the US it's 21 all over. Medically assisted dying is legal, under specific circumstances, in Canada. Just 11 States allow MAD. Js as something I've noticed.
Is it time for a nation wide referendum on abortion where only women can vote? I wonder how that would turn out.
Christianity is destroying America. If Christians would just learn to MTOFB about things that don't involve them, we'd have a better country for all. If you want a "Christian nation," go build one somewhere else.
I am a Christian but support right to choose. Don't blame Christianity, blame the moral majority. Not all of them are Christi, just zealots and extremists.
Load More Replies...So much this! I was just chatting with a guy from FB dating, and broke it off. Nothing bad, just wasn't feeling it. He said my health might be "more fragile than you yourself realize". Seriously? In the three weeks we texted, I had had.... a sinus infection, something I've been dealing with my whole life. Just wow.
Oh, but as a man, surely HE can fix you, right? /S
Load More Replies...Once again, you are completely misinformed-- Th Supreme Court rescinded a bad law-- which even RBG admitted was bad law--it was given back to the states control, where it should have been all along, constitutionally-- 50 years ago, a misapplication of the 14th Amendment (the Commerce Clause) was used to ram through-- under the Constitution, ANY rights not specifically enumerated belong to the States-- which is also why we have the right to defend ourselves using arms-- the concept of a Militia isn't possible without an armed citizenry.
Well, exotic butters, if you're a fan of consequences, then let everyone have them. If women should be forced to gestate without proper choice and control over her own body, then let the man who got her pregnant have a mandatory vasectomy. He gets no choice. He chose to have unprotected sex, after all, so now the consequences are sterilization.
Load More Replies...Bored Panda reached out to Leonardo M. Jones, an expert on emotional intelligence and the psychology of emotions, for insights on the misunderstood emotion of anger. Here's what he shared:
"Society often labels anger as a destructive emotion due to its potential outcomes—things like hostility, violence, and aggression. This perspective might come from various sources, such as cultural, religious, or societal norms. Yet, several researchers and psychologists argue that anger can be quite constructive."
People hurting children or animals!
And sadly, people look the other way… someday we’ll see the fire of hell that we are living in.
Cruelty to animals.
I don't understand people who get a dog and chain them outside to never let them off it or let them inside but also never go out and spend time with it. Why the heck did you even want one if they're to be tied/chained 24/7???
"Anger is a tool, really. When harnessed correctly, it offers vital insights that allow us to interact effectively with our environment. It's like a feedback system—alerting us to internal and external cues and guiding our reactions to them."
When people hate groups of people they have never actually tried speaking to.
Yes! I wish people would stop hating others just for their beliefs. It isn’t worth it; your judgement could mislead you. Even political opponents have sh*it in common.
Many things:
1. People torturing animals
2. People causing riots over something they don’t like.
3. People being abusive to others
4. Karens, Kyles, etc.
5. People who litter and think they are too good for rules
6. Bullies
7. People being hypocrites
8. The treatment of homeless people.
"At its core, anger serves as a shield. It equips us to fend off perceived threats. Those who recognize and express their anger judiciously often navigate their paths more effectively. Think of anger as a push towards our aspirations. Surprisingly, anger can cultivate hope. Recognizing what fuels our anger can spotlight areas of personal growth." He told Bored Panda.
Roe vs Wade being overturned!!
I just heard that Canada welcomes women from the US to come there when an abortion is needed. Free of charge. I don't know how true this is but I'm hopeful.
Bullying. Only those who have been bullied know the full extent of psychological damage it does.
I was bullied at my previous school, this year I changed schools and the people their are really nice to me but my old school still haunts me, so I can really relate to this. I told some of my classmates about it and they were really supportive about telling me how they ( the bullies) were super stupid and jealous of me. With bullying, you kinda have to go through it to really understand how bad it really is.
"Highly emotionally intelligent individuals harness anger's wisdom. Before diving into deeper emotional wounds, anger acts as a buffer. It's a surface emotion that hints at concealed facets of our persona. To genuinely liberate ourselves from its potential negative grip, it's pivotal to uncover and address its root causes."
People thinking you can "just don't feel that way" about mental illness. Like you can choose to not have depression. I don't see anyone out here telling diabetics to just make their own insulin.
Nothing makes me angry anymore. I can't do anything with anger. I'm over it. I'm just incredibly disappointed, saddened, disgusted, and ashamed of most people. I'm sick of it all. People are just sad saps. I refuse to let anyone dictate to me about how I should feel. So, having said that, I'm going to go outside and tiptoe through the tulips. When I come back in, I'm going to bake some cookies. I hope everyone has the nicest day possible.
Awesome my dearest friend, As Mr Rogers used to say " Won't You be My Friend "
"When approached with awareness and intent, anger can be transformative." Leonardo highlighted. "Beyond its guarding nature, it stirs proactive endeavors, catalyzes change, and promotes self-enhancement. It's all about harnessing it right."
People that feel the need to divide other people into groups just so they know who to hate.
I have no problem with vegans. Eat what you want. But if you make your pets agree with your beliefs, that's just messed up. Fido is meant to eat meat, and making him eat a head of lettuce for breakfast, lunch and dinner is not healthy.
The fact that half the population goes through a period every month, and it’s still ‘embarrassing’ or ‘inappropriate’ to talk about.
People who are inconsiderate, offensive, or intolerant.
They are EVERYWHERE!
Racists, bigots, and misogynists are three good examples to get the ball rolling. People who let their feral offspring run riot through restaurants, cafes, pubs, and supermarkets, whose only parenting 'skill' is to shout 'stop it!' at the top of their voices. People who think that their religion gives them the right to look down on others, zealots who shout at you or blow you up, churches and preachers that hoard money as if it's going out of fashion. People who demonize or criticize others because of their race, gender, or lifestyle choices.
In a nutshell, anyone who intentionally says or does something that hurts another person, whether physically, emotionally, or otherwise.
Tim says, 'Always consider how your actions or words will affect someone before you say, write, or do them.' Tim seems like a nice guy. Be like Tim.
(I don't know who Tim is, but he was polite, so I let him have his say.)
Came here to write exactly this. It's definitely got worse over the last couple of decades (well, since the 90s at least).
People who do not use turn signals. People who think stop signs and red lights are yield signs.
Littering.
I dont care how far from a bin you are, carry it till you reach one. It's not hard!
We don't have a cost of living crisis, we have a greed crisis driven by a need for companies to always show higher profits. Stop letting them get away with the lie and start taxing excess profit.
Also no person should earn more than 100 times the average pay of the rest of the staff. If they want to earn more pay everyone more.
Anyone that can harm or abandon any animal that is reliant on us for care, love or sustenance.
I love that this isn't limited to pets, but covers all animals in human care. I hate how that often is limited to pets, to cute animals or to rare animals, as if the single individual would know or care if they're meant to end up in a stomach, or how many of them exist. They don't care, neither should we, as there's no sound reason to.
Prejudices—whether religious, national, or political—encourage the worst in people.
Belittling older people. Thinking older people ruined your life, personally or societally. Failing to acknowledge the incredible challenges older people have faced and dealt with, even if they didn't succeed too well. Making older people the bucket for your grievances. Treating older people badly in service industries, especially humiliating them on social media, which should be Elder Abuse IMO since it is done knowing they don't know what is being villified against them.
Fruit and vegetables wrapped in plastic. We survived fine with them being sold loose upto the last few years. Now it's suddenly a health risk to not have everything covered in shrink wrap?
When someone tries to gaslight me and then acts like I’m the problem for not falling for it.
Canada still sanctioning the clubbing of baby seals. Don't you guys always brag about how progressive you are?
I'd love to complain about things but honestly, I'm not 100% educated in some of the things I want to vent about, and there's already so many depressing things pointed out in here.
So instead, I'm just going to remind everyone to stop scrolling for a few minutes, get a glass of water, and don't dwell too much on these things.
The world is an awful place, but one person isn't going to be able to fix it all overnight! Just remember to do your part, and try your best to (kindly) educate others; even though everyone here wants to change the world, and work together, we need to keep in mind that sometimes we need to focus on our mental health, too.
You're important, and amazing, and even if you don't have the time, resources, or energy to lead a protest or fight back every single moment, even the little things like picking up trash and being kind to strangers can stack up and make a huge difference!
When someone scolds you for something and then goes and does the exact same thing they told you not to do.
War, racism, bullying, hate, people who are homophobic, hurting animals, men thinking they are better than women...
And women thinking they are better than men… I know I might get downvoted for this but we shouldn’t create a culture where all men are immediately assumed to be misogynistic
Inflation.
Especially, like has happened in the USA recently, when the inflation is driven in very large part, by GREED. Pil companies posting record earnings. Banks posting record earnings, etc. Amazon posting record earnings. Inflation is being pushed by companies for whom it is not enough to post good profits enough to keep your investors happy, but instead keep raising prices (and thus inflation) that results in record earnings. Because the type of unfettered capitalism practice in the US is based ENTIRELY on greed with no consideration for anyone else who lives on the earth. Because GREED.
When the ziplock feature on resealable plastic bags stops working.

This is more of a pet peeve but still gets me mad. WHEN SOMEONE CHEWS WITH THERE MOUTH OPEN.
The mistreatment of furries. People automatically assume that the community has a bunch of people doing bad stuff to animals. That's not true because some of us are really nice and want to make people feel better about themselves.
Yes! And assuming furries are zoophiles. Sure, there might be some bad furries, but guess what? Every religion, country, club, anything like that, has some bad people in it. Doesn't mean there all bad

Having to listen to other people's music when driving or at the beach. I hate it when someone pulls up beside me with their music blaring or when I'm trying to relax and listen to the waves at the beach and they are blaring their music.
Or when in a public place and people are using their speaker to have their conversation.

Is that the only reason why you came to see the band? Just to hear that one song? And what if they don't feel playing it? I can recall Radiohead touring in 1997, after the success of OK Computer. After each song, the crowd kept shouting: «Creep! Creep!» but they didn't feel like playing it, at the time, and they didn't. After a few encores, the crowd kept asking: «Creep! Creep!» Untill an angry Thom Yorke came back on stage to yell at the mike: «F**k you! We're not gonna play it!» and walked off.

Hysterical much? I don't think anyone is proposing hysterectomies. But yes, I agree that the father should be responsible for his procreation and also have a say in whether baby is aborted.
