This used to be a stupid question to ask, now nobody can provide a clear definition. How can you fight for women's rights if you don't know what a woman is? Give it your best shot; what is a woman?

(Saying "a woman is a woman" is not a definition)

A woman is a human being. They shouldnt be treated differently for their abilities. They also should definitely not be treated grossly. We are all humans and we all have feelings. Woman, men, and others are all the same.

Depends.

Woman can be used to define sex, a female human. Which is a valid definition.

Woman can be used to define gender, a cultural cathegory. What is a woman, what is femenine, is defined by sexist rules that are ment to lomit the freedom of people. Women must like a, b and c. And you like d or e you "are not a real woman". Right wing b******t that I have heard all my life.

Sadly nowadays part of the left has adapted those sexist rules. Now anybody who likes a b and c is a woman. Instead of saying "you can do and like what you want" and telling them "dont change who you are to fit societies sexism" they tell people "you dont fit the box that we made for men, so you must change your pronouns, name and body too meet our expectations". They have gone back to sexist stereotypes of "a b and c are for women".

Some women cannot get pregnant and some men are born without penises. Just because they don't meet certain designated social criteria does not change their gender association. We are all human beings with uncommon experiences and traits between us. Woman = Man = Human = Person worthy of empathy "Common sense" is the prison we lock ourselves within. And that prison is only part of the whole societal construct.

Any adult who identifies as a woman.

Gender is a social construct anyways, so people can identify as whatever gender they want, regardless of their sex, which isn't even binary.
At birth, a doctor makes a guess as to what gender someone is based on their genitalia, but sometimes they're wrong. This is scientific fact and is non negotiable, regardless of how you think.

A woman is any adult who truly knows that they are a woman. Cis women are women and trans women are women and we should be fighting for the rights of them both.

That is contradictory. Yes, gender is a social construct. There is nothing inherently femenine or masculine. Which means that encouraging people to follow gender stereotypes, changing their body, name and physical appearance to fit said stereotypes is very sexist. Trans people should have the right to do so. But they are furthering sexism by supporting sexist stereotypes. There is nothing inherently femenine therefore a male cannot "be a woman" unless he means "I identify with the sexist idea of what a woman is". The way to combat sexism is to teach people that gender is irrelevant and outdated. Not to push them into follow sexism.

A woman can be defined by gender or sex. Or both. Don't hide behind your ignorant, uneducated bigotry. Or your troll account made during pride month for the sole purpose of mocking a minority that already gets so much hate. There's children that use this site, and I only have to hope that no transgender child stumbles onto here. You should be ashamed, violating the first rule of morality. Not being empathetic. Facts don't care about your feelings. Here's my sources. Where's yours?

No actually trans women that have not transferred yet are not born with ovaries.

Anyone born with the female chromosome. Change your appearance and genitals all you want but you cannot change your DNA.

That is not correct. There is no femenine chromosome. Technically in mammals either you have a male chromosome (XY, XXY...) and are a male or you dont have it and you are a female (XX, XO). Females are the default in mammals, only the presence of the chromosome makes the male.

Whatever set of chromosomes a person has when they are born cannot be changed. This is because chromosomes are in all the cells that make up our bodies. It does not matter which type of chromosomes you have you are identified by them, what you are born as is what you are no matter how much you want to change it. Answer me this, say you've committed a crime and left blood or any bodily fluids, forensics will identify your gender thru DNA no matter what you identify as or what you try to change that's just biology. Yes there is the possibility of being born with both but that is rare and a complete exception that's considered a "special case". Generally speaking medically and scientifically a woman is a woman because she has the female chromosome unless it's a special case being born with both chromosomes. I don't pretend to be all knowing, i just go by the research I've done by questions and topics I'm curious about.

Sarah Brown, a transgender woman is just as much of a woman as you are. If you're a b*tch about it, you'll assume I'm calling you a man. In which case, you'll get mad and throw another temper tantrum. That's fine too.

This is probably not how we look at this scientifically, but what if the "X" chromosome is the "female" chromosome. Would that mean that all humans are female upon conception and only some have a "male" chromosome? Wouldn't it be nice to tell all these incels that all males are just females that mutated in the womb. Speaking as a mutated male of the human species, I would be okay with this if it were true, though I don't think it is, again I am not a scientist. Still, the thought does make me laugh sometimes when I think of the reactions I have gotten when I discussed this "thought experiment" with some of my more "Alpha Male" students. I am pretty sure chromosomes identify as gender neutral.

All mammal fetuses will develop as a female by default if they dont recieve certain levels of hormones. So yes, females are the default sex in mammals. But the X in itself dont have any genes that make women who they are

I am biased on this one and by no means am I an expert on the subject of Gender Studies, my answer will need to be philosophical as opposed to purely factual. I feel that the term “woman”, like the term “man”, is a construct believed necessary for our minds to differentiate between male and female adult humans. It is a category of humanity the makes up nearly half of our earthly population. However, in my opinion, the term “woman” represents the feminine aspects of inborn characteristics of all humans. To be called a woman, or to call oneself a woman, is merely an attempt to identify with a flawed categorical system that we struggle to truly define in many cultures. Existentially, a woman is born a woman, however, this has nothing to do with gender and more to do with identity. A man who is born a woman has the right to correct her own physical nature to represent what she truly is inside. Every man has feminine aspects, as much as every woman has masculine aspects, sexual identity is a scale or spectrum, not a binary system. I am not a woman nor am I a man, I am both because I am human, just like everyone else, we should find better labels or ditch them entirely. This may not be an appropriate answer, but it is the best way I could put my thoughts into words.

"A man who is born a woman has the right to correct her own physical nature to represent what she truly is inside." You acknowledge that being born in the wrong body is possible, but can't hypothetically use male pronouns for a trans man?
