Hey pandas, I read your comments every day, but I barely know you. Amanda Panda leaves the funniest comments, Yvonne Bernal adds brilliant insights and additional info, and Hans never misses an opportunity to tell us what is wrong with each post. So let's break the ice by answering this simple question. What do you do for a living vs what would you do if money was no object?

#1

I'm the founder of Bored Panda, and I work as a chief editor. If money was no object, or I had lots of spare time I would create music. I've already been experimenting with FL Studio, and even bought a piano. I've created a couple of pieces on both, but I'd probably need a tutor to make something more advanced.

I'm glad you founded Bored Panda. EVERY morning without fail, I have my morning coffee and come here to read (and comment). Mornings without BP are like no morning at all <3

I'm working in the translation and localisation department for a video game company. Which kinda makes me proud because I love video games, and because when I look back at the times I was in mid. school some people telling me "games will give you no bread"... Bwahahahahha. Anyway, if I could, I'd devote my life to creating comic series, like, you know, the Japanese "mangaka" do. And I'd love to try some animation film directing as well. And voice acting too.

I'd find that little rascal Waldo. Then I'd donate all my time to travel and help others. You truly learn most about yourself when you meet other people. Assisting animals would also be a high priority. I'm a big advocate for treating animals properly.

My husband and I have long had a dream of building a sort of halfway house with a farm for the poor and homeless. The farm would provide some of the food needed to run the facility. Homeless residents could work the farm while receiving career training and assistance. We had ideas such as homework assistance for resident children and an after-school program for local children who weren't homeless.

I wish there were more people like you. It amazes me how easy it is to have a child and give a child away, and how hard it is to adopt one. There are so many good parents out there, who sadly cannot adopt for prejudices in society (same sex couples, single parents, etc). One parent's love is better than nothing but the system.

As corny as this is going to sound, if money were no object, I would travel the world, not only to see gorgeous sites, but I've always wanted to visit children's hospitals, and make terminally ill kids laugh. Kind of a female version of Patch Adams if you will. Laughter is a Universal Language, and with all the pain in life and in the news these days, kids (and people) need to see the good, the fun, the humor, too.

The same thing that I'm desperately trying to do when money is an object: be a landlord. I know that doesn't sound like something earth-shattering. Rent people places to live, not that hard. But I want to create community. In the States, rental prices are extremely high (averaging a little more than half of people's incomes) and the quality of the homes renters get in exchange for that cost is... not always the best. I want to create spaces that support and connect people, that help them grow.

That would be amazing if psychology merged with educational/business institutions. I was diagnosed with Bipolar and ADD at 17, and unfortunately schools aren't educated on how to deal with mentally ill children. In fact we get punished, sent out in the hall, detention, yelled at in front of the class. This translates into adult hood when one minute you are crushing projects and deadlines, and the next you struggle to even get out of bed. I wish there were more people like you!

I'm currently an engineering student. After graduating, I would go work and gain experience for a decade or so, and then quit to do several things.

    1) Mentor high school students who are interested in STEM. I would want to sponsor projects, tutor, and teach some engineering skills.
    2) Learn to machine, weld, woodwork, and some other skills. I'd have a variety of projects to work on. Some personal, some for my family, and some to benefit those in need.

With money in mind, I'd like to be a vet surgeon.

If money was no object, I'd still want to be a vet surgeon. I'd also spend a good portion both travelling the world to improve the lives of animals everywhere and volunteering my time at the hardworking animal shelters around my own country.

Either way, the well-being of animals is - and will always be - my main focus.

Well, I don't know if such a thing exists, but I know a "Doctor's Without Borders" certainly does, but I would love to institute something like "Vets without borders" to advocate for those who cannot speak - the animals. Some of the posts I see on this site in places like Venezuela, and third world countries are absolutely heartbreaking. I'd also like to set up safe havens for LBTQ people in countries where being different is "criminal".

I`m 14 and I would work as a conservationist and a field zoologist even if money was no object. If I could I would also have a small reserve and zoo for endangered species. But first I would travel around the world with my pets (degus and in a few months a corgi) in order to educate people on the importance of saving endangered species and their habitats. Then I would return to manage the organisation I had created and develop the protection of endangered species in Bulgaria to a higher level.

If money wasn't a concern I would like to open a public art academy for everyone to discover their artistic talents, this is actually something I was asked some years ago. I would also definitely learn many different painting, drawing and carving techniques, but that's something I'm already working on.

It's not about being rich, but how the obligation of producing money in order to pay the rent and bring food home drives us to take a job. But most of the time, and I say this according to what I have seen and lived, those jobs are not in harmony with our dreams and expectations. I understand many people have the blessing of having a job they love, but that's not everyone's blesing. So, a private supermarket? Hmmm it reminded me of Fallout.
