Trends are everywhere. They influence people’s fashion choices, their decisions regarding home decor or hairstyles, and can even determine what video games or TikTok dances, among other things, are popular at a given time.

In addition to being seemingly omnipresent, they are also everchanging. As times change, so do trends; and it’s no secret that once you reach a certain age, it can be difficult to keep up with the current ones. Some of them might even seem bizarre or strange.

Seeking to learn what trends people consider to be the strangest ones of the past decade, redditor ‘PaceSubstantial1107’ turned to the ‘Ask Reddit’ community and started a discussion on the topic. Quite a few netizens shared their opinions, covering all sorts of odd or even disappointing trends, so if you’re curious about what they had to say, scroll down to find their answers on the list below.

And every older generation has to criticize the younger one. It's almost like some people just can't wait to get old to put down the next generation WHEN THEY RAISED THEM. I stopped eating lunch with friends my age because it was all whining about the next generation. Especially when it's the generation that lived by "DON'T TRUST ANYONE OVER 30"

We are talking about a hair style, right? If you feel annoyed or offended or whatever, just don't look. They won't follow you, they won't talk to you, it is just a bunch of hair on someones' head.

Leave teenage fashions alone. Its normal and think that one in particular looks quite smart. The only styles I find slightly irritating are with hair over the eyes. Go broccoli bois!

When I was a teenager, I usually shaved my head. Easier to manage, looks good, and allows my head to breath whenever I exercise.

This is just a "you kids get off my lawn!" post. Hairstyles change from decade to decade, they always have. And the broccoli style looks less ridiculous than some of the ones from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.

Depends. Some guys really pull it off, others, not so much. Laughed my a*s off at work though when a guy in his mid 30s came in with it trying to hide his receding hairline. It does not suit men past a certain age

As someone who grew up in the 80's I'm going to say this is not nearly as bad as some of those hairstyles. Lol

I saw much worse hair in the 80's. Let them do what they want with it. For me it's all the wrethed tatoos out there. Good ink is nice, Blacking out parts of body is stupid.

I'm excited by what the broccoli boys will look like later. Given how many men keep some version of the popular hairstyles they had when they were younger, I wonder what the aging version of this will look.

It's fine if you have naturally curly hair and don't do it on purpose. But I hate it as much as the shaggy hair of 2010's. Looking at you Justin Bieber.
