Every day presents us with the chance to expand our knowledge. But if you are still, for whatever reason, worried that you are too old to learn something new, think about Priscilla Sitienei, a midwife from Ndalat in Kenya.

Not having the opportunity to attend school as a kid, she grew up without learning to read or write. But as she got older, she wanted to share her experiences and knowledge with her family. So, at 90 years old, she joined a local school, along with six of her great-great-grandchildren.

When my kids and I see scary pictures of sharks (breaching, with all their teeth on display, for example), we imagine them singing power ballads. That takes the edge off, too. Total Eclipse of the Shark!

Engaging in activities that challenge our mind is the key to reducing the risk of cognitive decline. Studies reveal that adopting new skills can enhance mental abilities in older adults. Just like our muscles, the mind also requires daily exercise to stay healthy. By regularly challenging and stimulating the brain, people can improve their reasoning abilities, problem-solving skills, and overall quality of life.

Taking up hobbies that involve curiosity also reduces stress and anxiety. For instance, reading allows us to unwind by letting us take a break from the hustle and bustle of work, relationships, and daily responsibilities. In fact, it triggers the release of feel-good neurotransmitters, such as dopamine. These neurochemicals promote feelings of pleasure and relaxation.

I thought the bird looked more confused. Like "what is going on, I don't like this... but it is kinda warm and snuggly..."

This is incredible. You never realize how giant these birds are until you see them next to a human being. I rmr in Canada I went on a 3wk canoe trip w/ my dad when I was 15 n we camped on this little island for a night n there was a bald eagle nest right above us. It was like 6-7ft in diameter. They would come n go to feed the babies n it was so intimidating when they would fly in bc I was just a tiny teenage girl.... this bird was like 3 of me. One of the coolest experiences ever. It definitely made up for how much that trip kicked my a*s!

This is a band inspired by the Beatles: The green one is the lead singer, and the others play instruments. The one on the right plays electric guitar, and the one on the left is the drummer. They’re getting ready to preform their heartbreak hit “Baby, please don’t leaf me now” 🎶🎵

this is most likely a community missal book for churches, as printing individual booklets was beyond expensive and pretty much impossible. these books were placed in the front and center of the church, and the huge letters allows for anyone in any part of the church to read along and follow the mass. books like these usually had hymns or psalms for the congregation to sing, or the parts of the mass such as the liturgy of the eucharist. churches very rarely owned more than one of these books, as they were pretty dang expensive, but one book could have up to an entire liturgical year written inside of it.
