Those who have siblings will agree—they're some of the best people in the world. They're usually our first best friends, partners in crime, and co-conspirators. Brothers and sisters can have huge impacts on our lives, friendships, even mental and physical health. All in all, it's pretty awesome to have a sibling.
However... the same people who have siblings will agree that the relationship is weird, especially when you're growing up together. All you know is that your sibling is annoying, no matter how much you love them. So when people came across this viral tweet that said "Sibling relationships are weird. I can give you my kidney but I'm not getting you a glass of water," it hit home for many. More than 670k liked the tweet and shared their thoughts on sibling relationships as well. One time I was 10 and my brother was 11 and it was trunk or treat at our church. This 8 year old stole my brothers candy but my brother was to nice to take it so he just walked with the mind asking for his candy back. I saw and ran over and pinned the kid to the wall, stole the candy, and gave it to my brother. And hour later I slap my brother for trying to eat a piece of candy I didn’t even want.

One of my good friends, who is an only child, but has two kids, sometimes struggles to get this. It's a mystery to her how they can fighting like cats and dogs and five minutes later having a blast together playing a video game or sharing a book. I told her that siblings know just how to push those buttons to make each other go off. But, at the end of the day, there will always be someone who has their back.

Oh, I get it. Two of my three brothers are like oil and water, clashed all the time as kids. Let someone else go after brother #2, though, brother #1 would lose it. My Dad, who had two sisters and longed for a brother, never understood any of the above!

Lol, family is usually the most "toxic" relationships. Its harder to leave someone youve known since the moment you or they were born. The mutual bonds can be like Stockholm syndrome, cycles of abuse can continue so easily leading people to then reach out for partners with the same issues as family. Siblings have the same or more of an impact on a person as a parent because they can have the same experiences. Most people luck out.

My older brother drove me nuts. Loved him but sometimes I would not answer his phone calls because of how he irritated me. Now he's been gone for 3 years and I regret every call I ignored. I miss him like a part of me is gone.

My brother's and I fought all the damn time as kids. Sometimes it was like who can hurt who the most. But now we are so close, we enjoy each other's company and hanging out. Next week we are doing an adventure room together with my mum and her boyfriend. We haven't fought in years but we do tease each other but playfully.

Our older cousin would call to talk to our mom, and either me or my older sister would be complaining about the other one, because we'd be fighting like cats and dogs. A few hours later, Katie, our cousin, would call back, because Mom hadn't been home, and she'd say something about us fighting, and Mom would just laugh, because me and my sister would be out to get lunch, or shopping, or just at the mall.
