The internet can be a great place to look for information or share your knowledge with others. That’s why there is an abundance of Q&A-based communities and websites, one of which is Quora.
Founded back in 2009 (and made public a year later), Quora now reportedly boasts more than 400 million monthly active users. So it’s no surprise that with a number of users this huge, there is a large number of topics that are covered by them, too. Some, though, are more bizarre than others.
On the list below we have gathered some of the most puzzling questions that were found on the website and later shared on communities such as r/InsanePeopleQuora and r/quora, so if you’re curious to see what gems Quora holds, continue scrolling to find them. Ranging from funny to confusing, and beyond, they show that there might be such a thing as a stupid question after all.

In their own words, Quora’s mission is “to share and grow the world’s knowledge,” much of which nowadays remains in people’s heads rather than written down somewhere. “We want to connect the people who have knowledge to the people who need it, to bring together people with different perspectives so they can understand each other better, and to empower everyone to share their knowledge for the benefit of the rest of the world,” they wrote in their mission statement.
Providing a space for people to ask all sorts of questions and for others to share their knowledge, the Q&A (question and answer) website has likely led to many people learning something new. However, as this list clearly shows, some questions might be difficult to answer even for the most educated of people out there.

Talking about what makes all sorts of Q&A websites and forums so popular online nowadays, Professor of Communication at USC Annenberg School For Communication and Journalism, Dr. Dmitri Williams noted that it might be related to a simple concept called ‘social proof,’ which means that we look at what others are doing to see if we’re doing the right thing.
“Everyone wants to fit in, be accepted, and feel good about themselves. This is doubly true online, where you can’t always get the same cues you can in person,” he told Bored Panda. “Research finds that people take online cues strongly when the space is more anonymous. Q&A websites are a little bit like that—what is everyone else thinking? They can also seem like more fair sources of info since we know that companies will essentially tell us anything to get us to spend money.”

By contacting a lawyer who then will proceed to ask for a retainer and then he/she will tell you that you don't have a clue what 'custody' means and that you are almost certain of being convicted of theft. After that, you don't have to worry about your son because he will have cut contact with you.

With so many people turning to their devices and the internet for information, it’s important to keep in mind that far from everything we find online is actually true. So it might be a good idea to remain critical, especially when looking up things on social media or Q&A websites, where the information is rarely shared with proof accompanying the statements made.

In a way, this is kinda sad. It's not just that this person is exhibiting bad parenting behavior, but that the U.S. healthcare system is so greedy that people try to avoid the hospital at all costs. One of my friends dislocated her ankle and had to fix it herself JUST to avoid paying a lot of money for a hospital visit.

A friend's son, in his early 20 was dating a woman who claimed to be 19. She looked kind of young, so before they slept together he asked her to show her ID. It said 19 and he figured things were OK. Few weeks later the girl's mom comes after him with the cops. Turns out she was only 15 and she and the mom were working together to try to sue him (he was broke, why pick on him? IDK?). He ended up doing 2 years and getting a permanent classification as a pedophile.

As someone who lived with a husband that had dementia, I understand your feelings, but the fact is, she may not remember a spanking or anything about her actions so there is no point in corporal punishment. She does probably go through periods where she is very scared because things no longer make sense. If you have trouble dealing with that, get help for yourself and maybe a little help for caring for your mother. It is a very difficult job to care for those with dementia.

Sadly, he probably CAN sue. In the US, criminals can sue for harm they have received while on someone else's property, even if they are there illegally. It might come down to whether the harm could also have happened to someone who was there legally. And the regulations probably vary from state to state.

If a doctor would diagnosed somebody with autism based entirely on a single drawing made by that person, without ever meeting or seeing that person, the doctor would lose their license, and rightfully so. Yet these people, who are not qualified to diagnose autism in a living person who they can meet and with whom they can interact, are claiming to successfully diagnose autism in people who lived tens of thousand of years ago. How does that make even the slightest bit of sense?

My atheist parents sent me to bible class (not mandatory) at primary school because they thought it was good for my general education. They were right, I learned to recognize hypocrisy quite well and not confuse fantasy for reality. Though the insane religious teacher did their part as well.

I mean, not necessarily the best punishment, but if he's disrespecting girls then you should make him aware of himself first. My little brother used to make fun of pubescent girls until my mom sat him down and made him write everything he's insecure about on paper. He was told to imagine girls his age making fun of him for those insecurities and write down how thinking about that made him feel. First of all, yes, that's illegal (it's called slander). Second, if this were real and being asked to report a real pregnancy, I believe it depends on the age and region. Where I live there's what's called Mandatory Reporting for things like SA, abuse and underage sex, but over the age of 16 people are considered old enough to decide who to tell what. Teachers, doctors etc can't be forced to share other people's information and can be sued if they do so without permission. (I had to look that 2nd bit up and thought it was cool enough to share.)

Be careful of what you try to do. This happened at my school because the male teacher kept getting told no by a girl he made advances on. He tried to destroy her reputation by telling her parents she was pregnant (she wasn't) so she told everyone it was his. He lost his job and had to leave town before she agreed to a pregnancy test to prove she wasn't pregnant

I may be unpopular with this opinion but I agree with OP. The teacher should not have burdened those kids with her abuse, and asking for advice was beyond inappropriate. It doesn't matter how old the kids are, it's wrong to discuss it with students. Yes, what she's going through is horrific but the teacher can go to a doctor, a therapist, her family, the police, she has tons of options, but her students shouldn't be one of them.
