Nature is awesome, some ants species produce antibiotics too, that are currently tested to make new medications based on it. Half of the pharmaceuticals we have were derived from natural sources. Some essential oils carry strong drugs too. I have ehlers danlos syndrom and i use 2 of them almost daily instead of bad drugs (tramadol and nefopam) and i'm thankful to mother nature for it. Gautheria procumbens(wintergreen) oil is 99% methyl salicylate(aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid), which is an analgesic and an anti inflammatory(a very toxic one, a teaspoon could kill a kid, use it carefully). The plant use it to attract insectivores and many species of birds and mammals eat it, in little amounts (2/10%of their diet) so they probably are aware that it helps them but they use it carefuly unless some dumb humans who think "it's natural so it's harmless". Nature is wonderful and deadly!

Most cuckoos are bad, but in Australia we have one, the Pheasant Coucal, that actually raises their own chicks and mates for life. The father does most of the work, incubating and feeding while the mother helps feed. I have a pair living around my house that just raised a female who I use to watch as a little fledgling running after her parents, now she's all grown up with a man of her own ☺

There is a bird who pays it's egg in a smaller birds nest and when the egg hatches it pushes (or eats I don't know) out the original baby birds so sometimes they die
