Sounds like OP is just jealous and looking to shade someone else to deflect from her own self-shame. She should either talk to a therapist or put on her big girl panties and fix her own problem. If she can't do that, then God's Atomic B!tch there needs to keep her mouth shut and her fingers off the keyboard. She also needs to figure out that real people won't dislike you for being a bit heavy, but they will hate you for acting like an entitled cvnt.

For those unfamiliar, an Epi-pen is a self injectable syringe containing epinephrine, for use during an allergic reaction and to help prevent anaphylaxis. (It is available by prescription only.) I use an injectable similar to it, but mine is an asthma treatment. There are any number of injectable medications now, and they are no one's business but the prescribee, their doctor and immediate family who need to know. In the US, it's a violation of HIPAA law to disclose that information to others without the patient's permission. Mind your own business!

I don't think OP knows what 'stick in the mud' means, but MIL is not being deceitful in any way. Those d***s help suppress appetite, thus reducing food intake for some people. They do not magically make the pounds just drop off, there is still plenty of work involved. It's none of anyone's else's business and MIL is not under any obligation to mention it to avoid 'lying'. If OP wants to destroy any relationship she has with MIL, this would be a great way to do it. I wouldn't think it would be great for her relationship with her spouse either. And if it's FIL's med, which it could certainly be, she won't even get the satisfaction of being vindicated once she opens her big mouth.

*sighs* been facing this a lot myself. i'm a diabetic, i'm on ozempic, and of course as soon as it's mentioned... people tell me: * it's dangerous and i need to get off of it immediately! * i shouldn't be taking a diet d**g! * comments about it being new and untested! * etc along those lines and a lot of side-eye it has been tested in diabetics for 2 decades, the weight-loss is a side effect, and yeah i was warned about the side effects before i started on it for LIFE. thing is, diabetics don't take the same amount as those who take WEGOVY(the proper diet version), we take typically a quarter the amount to get the affect we need(stabilizes blood sugars, helps produce insulin in those who still can, and helps reduce insulin resistance), and we know we're on it for life. one of the major issues, is all the news articles etc for years now, have mentioned the diabetic version which is, again, ozempic and rarely mention the diet version which is wegovy.

if OP is interested in losing weight, she could ask MIL for tips and advice, and say, "i've heard great things about those weight loss d***s, do you know anyone who's had success with those?" and if MIL doesn't say yeah i take them, drop it.

YTA, and a snoopy one to boot. Epi Pens are used for anaphylactic shock prevention in the event of exposure to a dangerous allergen i.e. bee sting, food (peanuts, seafood, etc) or any substance that can cause an allergic reaction. Next time, ask a real medical person NOT THE INTERNET. Google does NOT, in fact, have an MD behind the name.

Just let it go. She shouldn't be lying, but if she isn't in your face about it, there's no harm. She's eating healthy and recognises the hard work is at the gym, and she's made lots of lifestyle changes. Don't put that down. Don't make her feel bad for losing weight. Just ignore it. If she starts lecturing people, fair enough, but support the healthy lifestyle, it doesn't matter how she got there. Don't be malicious.
