I Finally Started My Weight Loss Journey And It Completely Changed My Life
I have never been a skinny girl, but I was also never a big girl. It was not until I graduated from high school that I started gaining weight. It was 10lb, then, 15, 20, and by the time I was 23, I was 100 pounds overweight. Of course, I was aware that I was gaining weight and would go into “diets” for a month or two but then would forget about it, and let’s say that what I thought of a weight loss diet back then its nothing compared to what I know now.
I used to think that diet was eating salad all day, and now I know that there is so much great healthy food out there that I can eat and still be healthy.
Once I was 220 at only 5ft tall and struggling to breathe at night, I knew something had to change. So I started small, I got up early every morning and started walking 45-1hr daily (I hated my appearance so I would go early or late when no one was there). I started cutting junk food out, and I would go great for a week or two, but then I would literally attack it and felt disappointed in myself and felt like I would never accomplish my weight loss goal and would stop for a few days then would get back on track. The only difference was that this time I was more consistent, and I would get right back up even after giving up 3-5 times a month. The 1st two months were miserable, mainly because I was used to eating any time not because I was hungry but because it was there, so why not?
This weight loss journey was a mental game, and once I got used to it, it was easier and easier. I stepped on the scale, and 10lbs were gone, then 20, then 30, my goal was to be at 160, but once I reached that goal, I wanted more and more. I was able to get to 110/115, but it was too small, and I looked fragile, so I started weight training, I was afraid at first especially because I was gaining weight but was still fitting my clothes (it was muscle weight). I formed healthy habits – I learned how to eat right, and I have been able to maintain my weight despite people telling me that I was going to gain it back plus more, I proved them wrong.
Now here I am, I live an active life and eat super clean 90% of the time, who knew I could enjoy a healthy lifestyle (I love it!!).

Thank you! It was hard at first but it has become a daily habit so its not as hard now as it was before, I now enjoy eating healthy. I forgot to mention that I was a pre diabetic and has skin problems all that disappear with just changing my food habit. I now feel miserable if I eat like I used to.
What type of foods do you eat to help with your health and weight loss?

I've nearly achieved my own weight loss goal, and hope I'll feel and look as good as you when I do haha I've been using an calorie counting app called Yazio (https://www.yazio.com/en) to help me achieve this goal and stay motivated, and I must say it's the best tool ever. It really helps to stay on track :)
