475Lbs Man Loses 198Lbs In One Year, And It’s Hard To Believe It’s The Same Person

The New Year is just around the corner, so you probably know what that means. Weight loss resolutions. This man’s weight loss transformation, however, is so insane, it’ll make you hit the gym even before 2019. After listening to The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Assistant County and District Attorney for Ellis County Vance Hinds decided to start a healthier life, and he reached amazing results in just one year.

Vance started at 475 pounds. “Over my life, I’ve lost and gained hundreds, if not thousands of pounds,” he told Waxahachie Daily Light.

He started his weight-loss journey on November 19, 2017, weighing 475 pounds

“Normally, periodically, I start these healthy lifestyle paths, and I lose weight for a while, working out on my own. But with my wife, it’s just us two, and it’s easy to talk yourself out of it. You do pretty good for a few weeks and a month, and then you start slacking off, and then you quit. I’ve done that over and over and over again.”

This time, Vance started posting his workout program progress on social media. So people would hold him accountable. Soon, people from Australia, Scotland and a lot of other places started messaging him, saying Vance has been their inspiration. One day, as he was leaving the gym, a muscular guy told Hinds that he’s been watching his videos and told him to keep it up with his exercise routine. “I swam a little harder that night, it felt good,” Hinds said.

His family was a big reason why Vance  started changing his lifestyle

“I’m doing it for them too, to show them that they can do anything if they put their mind to it”

“I don’t know if I have a choice anymore at the age of 52. I have to get this weight off of me”

Every Wednesday, friends from the Waxahachie High School, mainly the class of 1983 get together to walk with Hinds. “It’s great. Look, Vance isn’t just helping himself. Look, he’s helping everyone,” one of Hinds’ best friends, David Snell said. “The truth be told, we all got a weight problem. Vance is pushing all of us to reach that healthy weight by getting involved. Everything he’s doing is a motivation. You know he’s showing the message ‘if Vance Hinds can do it, then we all can do it.'” Over time, the group has grown. On week four, 12 people had already been walking with Hinds.

Hinds likes to mix it up. Besides walking and DDP yoga he does water aerobics and body pumps twice a week

Vance also adopted a healthy diet and made a habit of choosing healthy food over unhealthy fast food

And started doing aerobics with a group of people to help him feel motivated

Everything he did helped him achieve an incredible result: “I lost 198 lbs in one year”. Watch the video below to see how he looks now

Awesome! I've dropped 70 pounds despite having a broken back! The little known secret - although biochemists are aware of this - is that negative oxygen ions convert fat into water. I don't exercise, and I don't try to diet. The fat gets converted into so much energy I don't feel like eating much. I do it using a Whirling Bliss Machine and Bliss Disks. They generate the ions that are needed.

Good going! Awesome job! I have a 10 month old daughter and I always gain weight the first year and then gradually lose weight but this year, and this time, I'm actually serious about keeping my weight off. I've struggled with my weight since I was 18, but never did anything, and it wasn't until my mom got diabetes that I've decided to change my diet. My grandmother died, at a young age, when I was 14 from diabetes related problems and with my mom diagnosed with the same thing...it's time!

I understand why you feel that way. And it’s so easy to get down on yourself and beat yourself up. You’re right, with all those obstacles, how are you supposed to ever get healthy? But you do have some options that are fast, easy and free. And you can use them until you land a better job or until healthcare becomes available to you. For one you can count calories. If you eat less calories than you burn, you’ll lose weight. This means you can eat most of the same things, but just count how much of it you eat so you don’t take in too many calories. There are websites and apps you can use that count it all for you, you just need 3-4 minutes per meal to enter it all in while you eat. Try chronometer or just google “calorie app.” Since you have diabetes, you’re probably used to staying away from sugar anyway so it shouldn’t be too hard to fight cravings. Start with just that alone, and then when you have it down, you can start looking for cheap, quick alternatives to junk food.

Impressive - but he's got a heck of a lot of excess skin to remove, too. And that can only be done with surgery. Beggars belief how an obviously intelligent and educated man can allow himself to get like this in the first place. We all know what causes it, why do they do it?

That is an unpleasant comment. There are many things that can happen to a person that can start off bad habits and they can be very difficult to change. Sugar is addictive for example. Poor health, injuries, medications, it can happen. You are no sylph yourself already so be careful with how you judge others when life can change in an instant and, suddenly, it can be you struggling to lose weight gained through unexpected circumstances.

He looks great keep it up, but I personally believe there is no harm in a cheeseburger or a slice of pizza once a week

Maybe I didn’t hear it in the video but did he say that there was harm in eating those things occasionally?

I'm glad he lost weight but the video wouldn't play so I didn't get to see the transformation. Good job, though!

Yeah me either but this one didn’t have a lot of important dialogue and you could probably watch it on silent at least and just skim through it to see his progress.

I am fat because of diabetes, radiation, stress, lack of acess (including to healthy food). With medical care I would go to 90 kg in 6 months.
