Craigslist Ad Seeking Wedding Date For Mother-In-Law From Hell Goes Viral

Mothers-in-law are the butt of millions of jokes. And this one isn’t helping with the stereotype either.

Redditor u/elledekker recently shared a screenshot of a very unusual ad. It offers $1,000 to any “de-escalator” who can take a “narcissistic” MIL to a wedding and make her cause as little damage as possible. The text makes it clear that sh*t will be going down and not everybody can handle the task.

To be honest, I don’t know if it’s funny, sad, or both. What do you think?

Recently, the internet discovered an unusual ad

In an earlier Bored Panda interview, Lisa Burton, who has over 14 years of experience throwing weddings abroad, said that at almost all weddings, only the bride wears white. “The only time I’ve witnessed differently is if the bride specifically sets a color theme or dress code for a wedding, for example, the bride and groom may ask everyone to wear a certain color,” Burton told us. “We planned a wedding in Santorini where all the guests wore blue and white (the colors of the island), but even then only the bride wore all white.”

Not this time, though!

But of course, not every mother-in-law is as crazy as this one. And they can have big roles in the wedding, too. Jesse Reing of Events By Jesse, a company that offers custom planning, coordinating, and creative services, told Bored Panda that “it truly depends on how the couple has decided to involve parents at all, and the relationship that the bride has with her future mother-in-law.”

“I’ve seen great ones where the groom’s mom was more a mother to the bride than her own [child]. I’ve also seen awful ones, where the bride was begging me to start the ceremony 10 minutes early because she was scared her mother-in-law was going to force the groom not to go through with it!”

Michelle Lew of Lavender Crown Events, a wedding planning company servicing San Jose, Silicon Valley, and the surrounding areas, said the mother of the groom (MOTG) is important to the wedding and is typically in charge of planning the rehearsal dinner. Plus, the MOTG is usually responsible for special heirlooms or traditions to pass down through the groom’s side of the family. On the day-of, Lew also likes to incorporate the MOTG to have a larger role in the wedding by walking her son down the aisle and having a mother-son dance.

If the person who responds to the ad does a good job, maybe this particular MOTG will be dancing with him instead of the security guards!

And the reactions have been priceless

I basically make about $6,000-$8,000 a month online. It’s enough to comfortably replace my old jobs income, especially considering I only work about 10-13 hours a week from home. I was amazed how easy it was after I tried it….. ===))> 𝐖𝐰𝐰.𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤.𝐂𝐨𝐦
