It’s Recommended To Wash Hands For 20 Seconds, So People Have Suggested These 53 Songs To Sing Instead Of Counting
The coronavirus, or COVID-19, as it’s scientifically called, has been on everyone’s minds over the past several months. To date, there are over 95,000 confirmed cases worldwide with over 3,200 deaths across 79 countries. While the majority of these cases were identified in China, the virus surely isn’t stopping there.
Many global and national health institutions have issued precautionary measures and instructions on how people should protect themselves against the coronavirus outbreak. Among these methods was the washing of hands, which inevitably led to this one tweet going viral…
Freelance journalist Jen Monnier tweeted that people are supposed to wash their hands for 20 seconds, which turns out to be the exact time that it takes to sing Happy Birthday twice. However, when one song gets old and irritating to an uncomfortable degree, it’s time to switch songs.

Jen suggested 6 other songs. The internet suggested the rest. Bored Panda invites you to check out some of the best suggestions for songs to sing while washing your hands. While you’re at it, why not leave a comment with some of your personal suggestions and song recommendations.

You can't kill the coronavirus by clapping your hands. There needs to be water and soap involved.
Haha - I was just thinking of the Narwhal song, because of the Baby Shark song! Love it!
I remember singing this as a kid (a loooonng time ago!): Miss Polly had a dolly who was sick, sick, sick; So she called for the doctor to come quick, quick, quick; The doctor came with his bag and his hat; And he knocked on the door with a rat-a-tat-tat; He looked at the dolly and he shook his head; And he said “Miss Polly, put her straight to bed!”; He wrote on a paper for some pills, pills, pills; “I’ll be back in the morning with my bill, bill, bill.”
Iiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnn.... West Philadelphia, Born and Raised, On the playground, is where I spent most of my days. Chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool, Shootin' some B-ball outside of the school, When a couple of guys, they were up to no good, Started making trouble in my neighbourhood. I got in one little fight and my mom got scared, She said, "Your movin' with you aunty and uncle in Bel-Air!" I whistled for a cab, and when it came near, The license plate said "FRESH" and it had dice in the mirror. If anything, I could say that this cab was rare, So I thought, "Now, forget it! Yo-ho to Bel-Air!"
The worrying thing is that people need to be told how to wash their hands properly.
