Yikes, that's not on you, if she didn't like it she can eat somewhere else, asking someone to eat somewhere else because you don't like what they are eating, then getting mad when they say no is just narcissistic. She has full capability to eat somewhere else lol

Definitely not the a*****e! I am a vegan myself but it is absolutely none of my business what other people eat or not. You do you! I could understand that she would not want you to eat food with a strong smell in your office for example, where she would be forced to stay in order to do her work, however, in the break room this is absolutely fine. She can leave whenever she likes if the smell makes her feel sick. On another note, this might have been totally unrelated - maybe she had a bad day herself and just wanted some attention and special treatment...

Why didn't the vegan eat outside?

1) "Could you please adhere to my rules and conform to my views that are more important than yours in my universe that revolves around me and eat that outside please because I order you this is a vegan talking" 2) No. Piss off 3) Matter settled. Easy!

i hate when people use the microwave to eat their tuna or salmon. it make ALL the breakroom stink. but i don't ask them to not do that. Lot of vegan just want to make a scene and make themself look like they're the victim. so f**k'em! you'll send what? 10-20 people outside just because you say it makes you feel bad?

As a vegan myself, I would NEVER ask someone to move! It doesn't bother me what other people eat or if they eat it infront of me because we are all different and unique and have the freedom to do as we please. If I couldn't stand the smell of something, I would get off my own behind and move somewhere else! Jesus, the entitlement of some people just absouletly kills me lately!

I lean vegetarian and offer others my food but would never assume to force it on them. I believe it's very wrong to make anyone feel guilty for eating. Starvation is very real in this world. Gratitude is the only attitude to take around food.

Now that is a choice. While pregnant I could not stand certain smells, so I ate at a different hour or just something different than my husband.

Vegetarian here I think you're a-ok (presuming you weren't rude about it) Except for Dorian/jack-fruit, it doesn't seem reasonable to tell people what to eat in public spaces

I was vegetarian for 4 years. My family and friends were not. I never restricted what and where they ate, hence they ate all sorts of stuff in my company - as they should. It was my choice to try vegetarianism. I didn't need others to accommodate that.

Wow, I cannot imagine having the gall. The smell of a fast-food hamburger would absolutely make me feel sick as well...so I would leave. I would not ask someone else to interrupt their meal just because I don't like the smell. I'd probably be pissed about it tbh, but I wouldn't be a jerk either.

Life is about tolerance and maturity. Not everyone is going to be like you, whoever you are. As a 40 year vegetarian from an all omnivore family, you learn to appreciate and love the extremely personal choices you've all made.

I’m gluten sensitive, but don’t demand that no one eat anything containing gluten around me. I don’t even demand gluten-free food at office parties or meetings, and keep GF snacks at my desk for just such occasions. If I were the vegan with the food odor sensitivity in this situation, I would’ve just said Bon Apetit to the burger eater, and eaten my own food at a different time or in a different place. Because it’s not their problem, it’s my problem.

Smoking? Go outside. Eating? Stay inside. I know a vegan, who gets sick from the smell of meat (that's why she is vegan). She would go outside herself. I think it depends on the situation too. In a room full of vegans, it would be polite for the meat eater to go outside (if anyone dislikes the smell). In a room full of meat eaters, the vegan can go outside.
