What's happening now is basically America is trying to empty a pool that's slowly filling up and instead of actually working at it until it's done, they're throwing out a bucket once every hour and the water level just keeps rising. Eventually they're going to have to buckle down and do the work and in the end they will have had to work a lot harder because they were being lazy for so long. It's that, or they keep being lazy until the pool overflows and drowns them. Those are your two choices, America.

Yes. And no. Yes, the commenter was idiot. but sadly, no you are not right that we do not have idiot governments in EU. Poland. I am from Poland. And the current situation here is exactly the same as in US - ppl with no masks, DGAF about pandemic, everything is bussiness-as-usual, and the gov pretends it's fine. Hell, they even stated that pandemic is over and nothing to be afraid of! We don't have cases dropped for months. And the only reason we have smaller overall number of cases is because we are a smaller country...

I would love to resume traveling to the US again, soon. But it does not seem to be possible again any time soon since European countries list the US as unsafe, imposing heaviest restrictions upon return. This is a saddening development. Ultimately, travel restrictions merel, illustrate that the crisis is out of control and that people suffer needlessly.

It's not that. They can't afford to stay home and not work. Our wonderful government has done basically nothing to support the people whose jobs require physically showing up. So, they have to go to work to avoid starvation, and then they rationalize this risk by pretending that COVID is not serious.

We aren't all like this I promise. I've been wearing my mask, staying on the farm and not going into town unless it's absolutely necessary.

Yeah, whatever you say, Sparky. It's not just Americans. Plenty of others keep invading my bubble (I have zero problem with 6 feet and no contact). Some even want to shake hands or fist bump. Nope. Not doing it. And many are from other countries. And you can see people complaining about the same thing in plenty of other countries.

“Most Americans can’t follow simple instructions” The lame America bashing is getting really old and just makes you look really petty. Most states require masks in public and the overwhelming majority of Americans comply with that. Yes you have some states mostly in the south where it’s a choice to wear a mask and some chose not too sadly. But the international media is making it seem like all Americans are refusing to wear masks & social distance when actually the opposite is true. We’re a country of over 300 million people divided into states with their own government and laws . So yeah getting every single one of us to comply has been a challenge, but it’s a little more complex than people “not beIng able to follow directions.”’ In the end most Americans are doing the very best they can with a nutball for a president. And this guy doesn’t know it all either since he suggested that even healthcare workers stay home in his 90% shutdown plan. Just wtf?
