Wasn't this a protest because Erdoghan canceled a law protecting women ... I'll see if I can find it. ..........https://www.france24.com/en/europe/20210619-women-protest-erdogan-s-withdrawal-from-istanbul-convention-on-gender-based-violence

I love the new generation Turkish police force. Whatever the rules, decrees or law says the new gneration Turkish police tries hard to find an amicable solution which will satisfy the traditional, economic, humanistic and legal of the concerned case. Well, that is so in lighter cases like human or animal rights. They do not patronize, they protect and help. There was this one situation when a 20-25 year old girl came to my door in a bathrobe and started to talk gibirish. I called the police to come and help the girl. The police came in civilian car and dress, did everything to learn about the girl without blackening her name and filing a report and asked a woman in the neighbourhood to accompany her to her house (since she was a lonely woman and not properly dressed). I later learned that she was given some dope by her friends and that was not her usual behavior. This is a superb photo of the interaction between the public and new age Turkish police under recent circumstances.

Yes, yes, they are very gentle, humanist, protective and helpful people, the next generation of Turkish cops. Reminds me of Gezi Park protests. How they have KILLED innocent bystanders while firing gas canister launchers DIRECTLY at people.. intentionally. Yep. Very good people indeed. As for Mohammad Ammar, please don't cry wolf. My country suffered a lot because of so called conservatives. The headscarf is NOT a religious issue in Turkey. It is a political issue. Please do not try to pass judgment on things that you're not a part of yourself much less understand. Ever since Erdogan's government came to power, my country suffered a lot by those so called "conservatives". Ataturk's Turkey and true secularism has suffered because of them. Oz Deniz Boro, people are usually good. That applies to police as individuals. "The Police Force" however is not a group of individuals. As with any sort of crowd of people with too much power and too little supervision, they usually turn to a mob.

"Promoted by Italian cultural association dotART in partnership with Trieste Photo Days, Matrix4Design and Trieste Science+Fiction Festival, this year URBAN Photo Awards offers four categories in which photographers can try their hand.

Among the great novelties of this edition, the Bruce Gilden Special Award, which will be added to 'historical' sections dedicated to Single Photos (4 thematic areas: Streets, People, Spaces, Creative), Projects & Portfolio and URBAN Book Award which is dedicated to sketches of photographic books (the so-called 'dummies'). The Bruce Gilden Special Prize will be reserved for street photography projects destined to be part of a prestigious photographic volume edited by Bruce Gilden himself, from which a group exhibition will also be taken."

This looks photoshopped as why would she be there and look how vastly different the light is just on her. Also, to be conclusive about it, her hair appears to be in front of the veil that is closer to the foreground.

"As president of the jury, Bruce Gilden will be the guest of honor via Zoom at the eighth edition of Trieste Photo Days to announce the winners and hold an unmissable talk. See you in Trieste on Saturday 30 October 2021.

URBAN Photo Awards each year sees thousands of photos competing and hundreds of participants from all over the world. It is an ever-growing international contest, one of the few to 'cross the boundaries' of the web, offering photographers real visibility through dozens of photographic exhibitions in the prestigious frames of the Trieste Photo Days, the Trieste Photo Fringe and the Photo Days Tour (in Italy and abroad). In 2020 alone, URBAN set up over 30 exhibitions for nearly 1,400 photos on display."

They are prey animals forced to carry the worst parasites on Earth around on their backs...us. (And...I haven't been able to get myself up on another horse since my Olé died😿)

It's beautiful but: 1)Horses tend to have problems walking along the edge of waves like this ("moving ground" makes them "dizzy"). 2)They can get infected by algae, bacteria, etc. (Be sure to check them thoroughly for cuts, etc. afterwards). 3)Hooves can cause damage to delicate environments and sealife... So please research the area, dangers and rules before you take pets (of any size) somewhere new. **On our Beach, he'd get a ticket for driving on the clam beds.

It looks more like Old Bagan in Myanmar. They're Burmese pagodas, they don't look like Khmer wats.

Another evocative photograph. Wish I knew if this were natural or man-made haze.

This is reminiscent of the photojournalism of the early 1960s. It's like something you might have seen in Life magazine.

There's a good chance that man is Indian or more specifically Hindu, which means he treats cows as sacred.
