FYI, the PONCHO (plural PONCHOS) comes from several countries of South America, not only Chile: Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Perú, even Colombia and one little part of southern Brazil. The origin is situated in the pre-Columbian people, mainly in the zone of the mountain range of Andes.

Why is this listed as weird? This is the pride of each culture and should be celebrated and worn more often

Are you thinking of military berets? Because those are a whole different thing.

Oh pls put the saree down! And also maybe show a few styles of sarees, not just the usual one that most people drape for convenience.
