It is completely okay to have different opinions about music or food or anything else for that matter. It is also normal to not agree with one another. But there are some people in this world, who may have gone too far with their opposing views or are just trying to get on everybody's nerves. Recently, people on Twitter started sharing their unpopular music opinions, and some, while weird, are still acceptable, for example, standing by their love of country music. But then there were some who's opinion are simply outrageous, from calling the Beatles overrated to saying all rap music sucks, these people are definitely trying to stir up some arguments, and well, they succeeded.

This one is so true--not the classic rock or classical music stations but more of "today's" music in my opinion is mostly stuff I'm just not into with a few very rare exceptions.

It's easy to say that "music these days sucks" or whatever, but classic stations don't play everything. 99% of music on the radio has always sucked, we just forget because they only keep playing the best stuff.

I totally agree, i never listen to radio now. I listen to audio books or podcasts or my own music

Ugh, yes, there is some good stuff but mostly it’s all boring and generic and the “pop” music all sounds alike. Pop today sounds like it belongs being played faintly in the background at a Meijer.

It really depends on the radio station. If the station caters to the masses, then it will play mass-market garbage. We have some niche stations that play amazing music, all the time.

Depends on what station you are listening to, but I mostly agree.

Not all is garbage - but even the good stuff is overplayed. I don't listen to many of my favorite bands any more since they've been so overplayed.

That's why you find good bands that know body knows about. For example, try living in Zimbabwe and liking K-pop bands like The Rose, and N.Flying. Nobody will know. Ever.

I have to go searching for 'oldies' because everything playing is garbage. I'll take no lyrics and or oldies compared to this. There is no content because the artists are a logo and have NO CONTENT.

I don't even listen to the radio anymore. I pick what music I want to listen to instead of letting somebody else do it for me.

That is so true. But here in Minnesota we have a radio station called The Current. They are publically funded and play some of the best music most radio stations would never play. From The Beatles to Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats and everything in between.

Nowadays, yes. I listen to 60's, 70's 80's and early to mid-90's. Anything after 1995 is c**p.

Why can't we go back to the good music, like Michael Jackson and Queen and all that good stuff? -_-

Because the method of getting popular is so different now. Technology made sure we can’t have another golden age because everything is so niche now.

Depends where you live. In Belgium we have some great music... and you can choose your radio station of course.

That is exactly why most songs of my playlist are from 60s to 90s....

This is why you go to Bandcamp and hunt for indie music videos on YouTube and Vimeo instead of listening to commercial radio stations and watching commercial music channels.

Agreed, I wish they would play showtunes, J-pop Vocaloid and K-pop. Not playing Vocaloid I get but really? You can't play anything by Blackpink or from Hamilton? How much would it hurt you to play In A Crowd of Thousands once?

Honestly yes. They keep playing songs from like the summer and they're like 'oh such a banger still hot'. Um... It's not still hot if the song isn't on like the charts even...

I prefer video game/film music, I find it stimulates my imagination and is often well composed (John Williams especially)

Both songs with lyrics and instrumental songs can be immensely powerful!

The whole reason that it's popular is because a lot of people like it. You shouldn't be shamed because you're adding on to the list of people that like the song

I hate elitist fans who pretend they're somehow better because they liked something earlier than someone else
