Hello! My name’s Olha and I’m from Ukraine. As you all know, the last spring for Ukrainians is filled with darkness, fear, losses, and uncertainty. On February 24th, 2022, Russia began a war against my beloved country – Ukraine. It’s impossible to describe what’s going on in my heart, in the hearts of millions of Ukrainian people.

I just wanted to share with you my last pics of the Ukrainian Carpathians to show their beauty, power, and unbreakability.

I also invite you to check out (link below) my musically visual collection called The Voice of Ukrainian Nature of folk/ethnic/shamanic/meditative music inspired by Ukrainian nature, in particular the Ukrainian Carpathians accompanied by filmed landscapes. Music is composed and performed by me as well as the videos captured.

This beautiful land does not deserve Russian bombing planes flying over...

Since the beginning of the war, when Russia attacked Ukraine, it was impossible to create. Between air sirens, explosions, and bomb shelters, it was difficult to find the strength and time for it. The only thing on my mind was where the missile would hit. How to live? What will happen next? When is the end of this madness? Fear, anger, hatred, and constant anxiety greatly affected my mental health. Panic and depression, as if fiery flowers, grew higher and higher every day. It took me about half a year to regain some clarity and start creating again.

Voice of Ukrainian Nature is a music and visual project about the nature of Ukraine, specifically the beauty of the Ukrainian mountains. Few people ever experience the true mountains, with camping and multi-day hikes. Only a small number of people understand the value of such nature, its beauty, richness, and the importance of the ecosystem. However, many people want to destroy it, cut down the Carpathian forests, and create various resorts in order to make money. What will happen to our planet in a few years if we continue to act this way? Greed will ruin our planet, and people will destroy their own lives, the lives of animals, birds, and nature itself. Let's not be indifferent! We need to protect the ecosystem! That's why with this project, I want to draw people's attention to the problem of deforestation and the destruction of nature.

Art is a very important tool for drawing people's attention to various issues. It is the best method to express one's feelings and emotions. It is like meditation, like medicine for the soul. It is a call to fight, a stimulus for life, movement, and action.

I believe that that cluster in the middle is the pleiades. Closest star cluster to our sun, and in my opinion, the most beautiful.

With my photos, I want to draw attention to the fact that the full-scale war in Ukraine is still ongoing. It has been going on for over a year now. In reality, the initial Russian invasion occurred in 2014 when they occupied the eastern part of Ukraine and annexed the Crimean Peninsula and parts of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Since then, the eastern and Southeastern regions of Ukraine have been under constant shelling, resulting in the loss of many civilian and military lives. Numerous buildings have been damaged. And now, what is happening is many times worse! Many cities in eastern Ukraine have been completely destroyed! Look at Google Maps and cities like Bakhmut, Mariupol, Melitopol, Severodonetsk, Popasna, and many others. How many of our Ukrainian soldiers have lost their lives? How many civilians, including children, have been eradicated? People who were sleeping at home at night, strolling in the city center, or going to work, were bombed by Russian rockets and shelling! They were eliminated by the Russians! Massive missile attacks on Ukraine continue to this day, and Russian forces violate the laws of war. They publicly beheaded a living Ukrainian soldier, recorded it on video, and posted it on social media. They filmed the execution of live soldiers. This savagery cannot continue! It should never have started in the first place! This is the 21st century! Ukraine is part of Europe, and a bloody war is raging in its heart. And it's not Putin's war! It's a war of Russians against Ukrainians. Just read the comments of Russians after the shelling of Ukrainian cities, after the news of Ukrainian casualties. They rejoice in it! They want to destroy Ukrainian culture, language, and people! Ukraine needs support! Ukraine must be heard! The war is ongoing.
