It's a perfect one person house, and the renovations look as if they were well done. I'd still want an engineer to go over it inch by inch, and a plumber and electrician to make sure the pipes were sound and enough wall outlets were installed.

This is a gate house and not a castle. Gatehouses were on the grounds of manor houses are were used to receive guests, a sort of security hut. Castles were considered to be the private fortified residence of a lord or noble. You can't imagine them living in a 1 bedroom property! THERE IS NO CASTLE HERE!

The property taxes alone would kill you, not to mention the cost of utilities and up keep.
