This Twitter Page Documents Ugly Buildings Seen In France, And They’re So Bad, It’s Hilarious (40 Pics)
One thing is for sure, France is known for its beautiful architecture, but there are also some buildings that are so hideous that they have attracted a lot of attention, especially online. Why you might ask? Well, it's because a lot of people are sending images of these bizarre and humorous constructions to the "La France moche" Twitter page.
Because of that, the page has received a lot of attention and has developed into a place for people to share their views on the matter. Even though some of these structures may be considered eyesores, many people online have found amusement and humor in them.

Upvote for the caption 😂 "The Americans have their Ivy League, in answer I propose an Ugly League for French universities."
Unless my remaining French fails me it says "The rising sea level doesn't only have to have a negative impact. For example:"
The "La France moche" Twitter page highlights some of the strangest and least-liked structures in France, but it also poses concerns about how society and architecture interact. A large number of the featured structures were built when modernist architecture was at its height and designers were experimenting with unusual layouts.
The "La France moche" phenomenon also demonstrates the ability of social media to sway public opinion. While some could contend that the page is encouraging criticism and mockery, others think it is bringing attention to a previously unnoticed feature of French architecture. It is clear that many people are passionate about architecture because so many people are interacting with the page and leaving comments.
The overload of vertical lines makes it look like it's crying in the rain. A-ha sang about it in the 90s.
The "La France moche" page is funny, but it also serves as a reminder of the value of good design. Even if some of the structures might be seen as jokes, architecture actually has a significant influence on how we spend our lives. While bad design can have the opposite impact, good design can enrich our experiences and foster a feeling of place. It is essential that architects and designers take their jobs seriously and work to make places that are both aesthetically pleasing and practical.
It's a water tower. The lattice around it was meant for climbing plants to grow and hide it, but they never made it higher than 2 mètres. Six feet.
In conclusion, the "La France moche" Twitter page has created a platform for people to voice their thoughts on French architecture's more unusual features. The fact that the highlighted buildings are still standing implies that they have some cultural importance, even though some people may deem them to be ugly. The popularity of the page also serves as a powerful example of how social media can shape public opinion and start crucial dialogues. In the end, the page serves as a reminder of the value of excellent design and how it can affect our day-to-day lives.
Brutalism just sucks. Even when they get a somewhat interesting shape ... which is the only thing concrete really thrives in, that it is cast into ANY shape and form on site ... so, even in the cases there is some interessance in the shape, in the concept, in whatever, the ugly surfaces, plagued with algae, graffity and way too many little holes throws it off. Damned, use that stuff all you want, for standardized Autobahn-bridges or so, but ... can't spaces meant to provide a place to actually live in be nice, at least by some means?
That's à "pod" swimming pool. Quite à few were built in the 60s and 70s. On the right is the ET "La Denrée" from the very popular French movie "La Soupe aux choux" (cabbage soup). The building does look à bit like his spaceship. There was a not-quite-remake, but obviously inspired US version of that movie called Cocoon.
"Scaffolding has been in place for à while. Still waiting for work to start."
Christ! Can't they stop the concrete becoming grey-brown and ugly? Somehow? You know like maybe...paint?
The quote in French is from Rutger Hauer's monologue at the end of Blade Runner (in reference to the second picture) : "“I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion..."
most of them are amazing, and you shouldnt add the statues as buildings.
Wait wait wait!? There’s a semi mocking post on BP and it’s not about the US? Well f**k yeah!! That’s some ugly sh!t France
They mostly have the common thread of 'Brutalism' The architects LOVED it an probably still do. The problem was that those of us living in them hated them and they were very poorly designed for our climate. I'd love to see every single piece of Brutalist architecture knocked down..
You forgot this (there is also a sheep one close by) Nice, France Screenshot...48b814.png
I really wanted a translation for every picture. There were a lot of ugly building, but if I had a clue about what these buildings were for, that would have increased their ugliness.
France is famous for being one of the ugliest countries in the world, that's why this is the only post entirely dedicated to France here on BP ! Great choice BOREDPANDA ! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ! down-63ef3...21-png.jpg
