Bloggers Reveal The Truth Behind Those ‘Perfect’ Instagram Photos

A while back, we showed you an amazing photo series unveiling the truth behind Instagram photos. This time, we want to show you the truth behind the ‘perfect family’ perception.

For a creative new campaign, ‘A Kitchen Lived In: Perception vs Reality’, British designer and retailer Wren Kitchens teamed up with 5 popular parenting blog owners to show the everyday life that really lies beneath all those ‘perfect’ Instagram pictures. The project shows how cropping, choosing the right angle, and a little photo manipulation can make a messy image look like a perfect portrait.

“Parenting influencers are particularly pressured to perceive themselves as the perfect parents with the perfect life and the perfect kitchen on their blogs,” Wren Kitchens explains. “We asked them to show us their true reality behind the social media’s ‘perfect family’ perception.”

Surprise, surprise ... not! ;) It is the same with ANY artistic work and it is ok imo ... We often just forget about it! It is the same with movies, music, books, paintings, good meals, whatsoever ... just any kind of art! The artist shows you only that what you are supposed to recognize ... the consument gets the result ... in fact just the same is happening right here and now! ;)

Of course it's staged. It's a campaign. It is the concept which is interesting and is intended to make you think twice when you see those 'perfect instagram shots'. Truly genuine photos are a rarity, you know that right? Since the photographer always chooses an angle, a light, a subject... it's actually always staged. That's why it's called an art though.

Makes me feel absurdly happy and vindicated that their lives are staged. And mine isn't all that imperfect now :)

Well the point of photography is to pick out the most impacting or beautiful parts of a scene

Why is the baby eating raw muffin dough? Any parent knows you can't give that to a toddler because of the raw egg. This is terribly staged, and badly.
