True Herringbone Design Cutting Boards Painstakingly Handmade

Handmade herringbone cutting boards and serving trays. These aren’t the standard boring boards you can get at IKEA (no offense to IKEA some of their stuff is ok). Made from US grown hardwoods and designed in a true interlocking herringbone design, like the fish bones of its namesake, and with classical references back to Roman roads, the construction of the Florence Cathedral dome, and the Francois Gallery floors at the Chateau de Fontainebleau. Starting with rough cut lumber, each is milld and cut to perfection so each of the hundreds of pieces fit snugly with its neighbors before being glued and clamped together with the end-grain of the wood facing up. This is done to keep your knives from dull quickly and to make the chopping block as long lasting as possible. The boards are then recut to their final size, sanded, and oiled to a silky smooth finish, including handles carved into the sides for easy handling. Check out more of the individually made cutting board designs on the Herringbone Boards site.
