At one point or another, most of us have probably gotten ourselves into trouble at school once or twice. Getting sent to the principal’s office, having your parents come down to school to talk with the teachers, etc. is not necessarily the best experience when you’re a kid. In fact, it is typically quite terrifying for most. But you do have to do something extra silly or irresponsible to even get to that point most of the time.

These people took to Twitter to share their stories of getting into trouble at school… for ridiculously silly reasons. From sparing lab frogs’ lives to getting detention for chilling at detention without having been sent to detention, here are 39 scenarios where people got into trouble at school because of something very silly. Scroll down to see the whole list and consider upvoting the entries that crack you up the most!

For a lot of kids, school would eventually become kind of boring and repetitive. So it is no wonder why they constantly come up with ways to annoy each other or their teachers. Small acts of rebellion or silly stunts against the establishment that is school are not even necessarily bad as long as there is balance between acting up and being educated.

There is always at least one teacher at school who will seemingly go out of their way to scold or punish students for doing barely anything. But that doesn’t only count for school. That could also be your family member or your boss. So in a way, school does somewhat prepare you for life and dealing with real people outside one's safe bubble.

All in all, school is a place where people get ready for some important aspects of their lives. But a part of the learning process - the rebellion, the occasional prank, should not be met with complete shutdown and resistance. Instead, teachers should focus on educating their students, not pointing fingers at them for obscure reasons and calling it a day.

It's one thing for a teacher to tell a student off but to involve the whole class in ridicule is bullying.

My daughter has ocd and school was hard for her. She didn't manifest the symptoms they check for bc it is only studied how it presents in boys and men so it took us until she was 19 to get a proper diagnosis. It was such a relief when she was diagnosed and everything fell into place. She's getting better everyday at managing it. The symptoms started when she was 3. Her preschool teacher actually told me she was a liar bc of how she dealt w stress. I took her to her first therapist that day to make sure she wasn't being abused by that teacher. I took her out of that preschool that day too and did not let up complaining and raising hell until she was fired. Took 2 weeks.

I am so sorry to hear that but I am glad she is doing better now that she has a diagnosis. My brother was diagnosed with OCD at 5 and even then his psychiatrist was unsure because he had never diagnosed someone so young before. Thankfully he did start him on medication and therapy which helped and once he was in high school my brother decided to go off the meds (though he really shouldn't have done it himself cold turkey) and didn't have any OCD behaviors again. It is so frustrating that girls are at a disadvantage with so many mental health conditions because they present differently to boys. My sister was diagnosed with ADHD at 7, but it took another 10 years for someone to test her and diagnose ASD. Schooling would have be much better for her if she had supports in place before she got to her last two years.

So... what I'm getting from all these is that there are three types of teachers : 1 (the best) teachers that actually care 2 people who likes to torture those they percieve to be weaker than them 3 perverts that should be leaving under a rock - away from people.

I hated how my teacher would lock eyes with me when talking about talking about what I was struggling with, like I, as the student was the problem. I can't think of a more a*****e move than that.

My 4th grade teacher was like that. I slipped and fell in mud on my walk to school so when I got there I asked to go to the office to call my mom to bring me a change of clothes. Instead she stood me up in front of the whole class and made fun of me about it to them. I cried all day as she made me sit in wet/muddy clothes. When I got home and mom saw my puffy face she was P*SSED.

That is so horrible! I really don't understand what possesses some people to behave so inhumane.

(American school) This reminds me of when our teacher sat us all in a circle around her chair every day and passed out snacks and milk. I wanted chocolate milk, just once. Just once, I wanted her to let me have one of the chocolate milks. So, at six years old, I worked up the courage to ask her for one, like some of the other kids did, and she said, "No, I don't like kids with blue eyes." I didn't get it, but it was simply one more way for this teacher to point out that I was unlikeable. I was confused. I went home and looked in the mirror and saw blue eyes. I asked my mom about it, and she said, "It's not only your blue eyes it's your last name too." Mom told me to just keep being a good girl. I tried so hard to please that teacher, but I simply couldn't. She'd walk by me as I sat in my tiny chair and say mean things in my ear. It wasn't until years later that my shame was a German last name, blue eyes, and a Jewish teacher. Wish I'd known then, what I know now.

That is so sad. It is a teacher's responsibility to put their own negative experiences behind them and treat each of their students fairly. It is no more your fault for being German as it was hers for being Jewish. Maybe it would have been better if your mum explained why your name mattered, but then again maybe it would have just brought more attention to it. I really hope it did not impact you having strong relationships with teacher after that, though I know for me it would probably give me just one more reason not to speak up in class.

Peachofababy, sounds like you had a tough childhood. Didn't your parents intervene?
