Australian Mom Turns Bratz Dolls Into Regular Girls By Removing Their Unrealistic Makeup

These Bratz dolls have been rescued and rehabilitated from op-shops and tip shops around Tasmania. These little dolls for girls have opted for a “tree change,” swapping high-maintenance glitz ‘n’ glamour for the down-to-earth style. I repaint the dolls faces by hand, mold new shoes, and my Mum sews and knits their clothing,” Sonia.

My sisters and I grew up playing with second-hand kids toys and home-made cute toys in the beautiful Tasmanian natural environment. I love the satisfaction of repairing and reusing discarded, though still cute dolls to give them a new lease on life.

Day spa

If all goes well these, when repainted, dolls will be ready to move out in March. I hope they are enjoying the day spa before their make under!” Sonia.

These little dolls (salvaged from the Recovery Shop in Glenorchy) will get a good wash, new feet, new faces, and homemade clothes. Then they’ll be ready for a new home! They may still have some scars from their previous lives (look at those chewed legs), but at least these realistic dolls won’t become landfill,” Sonia.

how dare you disrespect the bratz like this. they look terrible. why can't you just buy your own dolls that look how you want them to. let chloe jade yasmin and sasha have a passion for fashion. disgusting.

I think it's a great idea what she has done. I only raised a son . But had I had a girl, the dolls are a better choice for toys.

I think it is really awesome that you can change the way your children and others to look at a doll and not feel that they have to be it

Love them - the altered versions are so much better than the originals. I like the fact that there's a nature theme here as well.

p.s. The knitted and homemade clothes are great - my Great Aunt knitted outfits for my, gasp, Barbies and my Grandmother made matching dresses for my sister and I and our dolls. Some of the dresses are still circulating among our cousins' children more than 40 years' later. Hooray for homemade.

The Tree Change Dolls are a fantastic, refreshing change from the ridiculous originals. Let's see more of these 'makeovers'.

Pienso que deberian editar el video. Casi al final se ve algo indebido en una de las niñas. Protejmoslas de verdad y mejor. Revisen y editen el video.

This is wonderful. Even though you do not want to be a manufacturer, you deserve the credit, not the business who takes inspiration from it.

Not all young girls like pink, glitter, sequins, nail polish and make up. It doesnt mean they arent feminine just that they have different interests and choose other role models. Little girls have plenty of time to develop and dont need this type of precocious, sexualised toy targeted at them at such a tender vulnerable age when peer pressure can cause such anxiety, eating disorders and even body dysmorphia. As the grandmother of a seven year old girl, I encourage wider interests and activities to broaden her mind and give her confidence in being a young woman.
