I like how the traveller respects and captures non,/important moments in history with a camera. The traveler shows the world in a different perspective that would not exist without him/her.! :DD “Amazing Work!"

The photo on the right will end up meaningless. If it is good, it won't be any different than photos already on shutter sites. Photo on the left would be unique.

I would disagree here. Selfie puts you into the context. It's not just what you see or smell or feel. It's you in it. It is the interaction. Apart from the selfish side of the selfie there are many other sides too.

I would have thought the number one difference would be being able to hold a reasonable conversation in the language of the country transversed.

I'm definitely the Traveller, I never EVER take selfies. I refuse to. Wow, that's sad for a 12 year old girl... isn't it...? Heh, I love being a geeky gamer nerd?

The only difference is that people who consider themselves 'travelers' don't appreciate it when somebody calls them a tourist. Apart from that there is no difference whatsoever.

If I want some incredible photos of a place without me in it. Then I'll just google it !

A GoPro on an extension makes no one a tourist. I love my "selfie stick." I agree with the point of taking photos of yourself while travelling isn't always the best option, but if it makes you happy, then go for it.

and yet, how do you think those photos you google got there? Travelers taking and sharing, that's how!

Narcissist vs someone in the way pretending to be semi-pro wanting the same photo thousands of others already have. Look first, take photo, move on - don't waste a day "waiting" for the perfect shot - be a traveller, not an obstacle.

First of all, Traveler is spelled with one L. Secondly aside from the selfie stick, a traveler can do all of the below. It's a state of mind not acrivity driven. A tourist goes to a destination to look at sites and take in a little of the culture while generally sticking out like a sore thumb. A traveler blends in by submerging himself into the culture and surroundings and be one with the environment he is visiting.

"Traveller" is the British/English spelling and "Traveler" is the American version.

I just noticed that the Tourist looks like s/he has a big head. Implying that Tourists are big headed? Not sure if I'm just digging too deep here xD I think I am probably wrong :L Just pointing it out though

You can actually see not only the head is bigger but the entire body the photo is taken up closer

It's the difference between cheap generic c**p that's pushed onto out of towners versus buying a momento that captures the essence of the memory.

You can be a traveler and do both of these things. Taking a cab in a foreign place is an adventure too!
