I Turned My Grandma’s Old Van Into A Mobile Home So I Could Travel Across North America

You don’t need to plan an elaborate vacation to end up at a beautiful destination. Simply pack up your minivan, drive for a few hours and I guarantee you will find somewhere incredible! This has been one of the main messages I’ve tried to relay to people after converting my Grandmother’s old camper van into a custom mobile home and traveling around the country for almost a year and a half.

Of course, those foreign countries and tropical islands should be visited if you get the opportunity but don’t forget about all of those amazing places in your own backyard. Whether you are hiking through the backcountry, wandering in the beautiful nature of National Parks or searching for secret waterfalls, there are an endless amount of adventures that life on the road can offer.

The inspiration for creating these cool photos comes from many different platforms, but the biggest factor is admiring the landscape I’m surrounded by at the time. Adding a human element to the travel photography helps capture the emotion and overall grandeur of the scene, which I think people can relate to and picture themselves in. Overall, I hope that by constantly pushing myself and the boundaries of my craft, I can encourage others to do the same. Get out there!

You both have an extraordinary eye for very impressive image taking. Now that you've taken me to these beautiful sites, I thank you for saving me going myself, for I'm sure that I could do no better. As far as walking on ropes, those days are very far in my past. Keep doing what you enjoy. Thank you.

Breathtaking photos Travis. So much of hardwork has gone behind each shot. You have a very good grip on techniques and your use is very innovative. The photographs are spectacular. Your van-home is gorgeous. Thanks for such an inspiring presentation.

Great pictures, equally great places. Would like to learn more about "Betty" and her transformation. Most of your pictures call out for some "non-photgraphic language" explanation of how they were taken. A long timed exposure to show the stars.

I appreciate the comment Kenneth. You can learn more about how I transformed Betty here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtM_ZILTZe4 And yes long exposures were taken to capture the stars. Please feel free to ask about a specific shot if you would like more information. Photo info becomes a little lengthy to add to every shot. Cheers!
