This is not a photo, at best it is heavily composited from multiple items. If this was an "art" contest that would be fine, but not for a photography contest. The sky is basically pasted in then flipped for the reflection effect for the water. In order to take a shot of the milkyway you would be taking a 20-30 second exposure. There is no way two people would be able to stand perfectly still for 20 seconds, nor would the dress be positioned like that with the back part of the dress hanging in mid air for 20 seconds. Also, astrophotography shots are typical shot with an ultrawide angle lens to allow for longer exposures without star trails and motion of the milky way, which would mean the people who were on the horizon would be severely pushed to the background and would be tiny in the frame. The perspective here is closer to a "normal" angle of view. There are tonnes of other issues with this image. Here is a photo which I have taken of the milky way, picture the couple on the horizon. Now this is a photo with love in it. the composition is a bit plain, and the shirts could be something other than the color of the bed, but the subject is amazing, good position and genuine feel of love and compassion. Photographer should have lit the subject on the right a little better, but good placement of hands and arms, good sense of softness with the emotion coming out.
In a world full of colorful buildings she is the architect of his heart ...
This is an unfortunate use of space. The man should have been off to the right where she was looking as a way to lead the eye to what she was looking at. Now the eye just wonders off and looses interest. with the subjects so disparate in size you want the look of the foreground subject to lead you to the background subject. The non symmetry of the dress would then not feel forced, and would lead the eye even more. Poor composition. Interesting idea, but poor execution.
Beautiful. I can't help but think this has a 2nd installation where one of them is being creamed by that soccer ball.
He is thinking .. "She said yes, life doesn't get any better than this. Best day ever."
The smile on her face screams: " I'm getting married I don't really care that we can't find a way out of here, I am just so happy .. I am getting married. "
Not a huge fan of this image. It feels like a cosmetics/makeup advertisement to me.
Do people generally have professional photographers on the day they get engaged?
Many people get engaged privately, and then have professional photos taken to send out as "save the date" cards for their wedding date. I assume these were taken after the couple have been engaged.
