So there’s absolutely no debate on whether or not Chile is one of the destinations everyone should visit at least in a lifetime. The country has it all – offbeat beaches, hiking trails, glaciers, history tangled in the walls of every single building in Santiago…and more.
There’s only one small problem – so many things to see, places to visit, beaches to lay on, and so little time.
Worry not, I’ve got you back! If you’re planning your vacation to Latin America, make sure to check out these 10 prodigious places in Chile I selected for you.
Easter Island (Rapa Nui)

The Easter Island, which is also called Rapa Nui by the native residents, is a small volcanic piece of land. What’s most unique is that there are no other places on Earth that own a more mystical charm than this Chilean territory.
Make sure to book a flight from the capital, Santiago de Chile, to see the moai stone statues with your eyes.
Chiloé Island

What’s truly extraordinary about Chiloé Island, the isolated piece of territory in southern Chile, is its cultural richness and pastoral landscapes.
Moreover, it’s well-known for its iconic wooden churches built by Jesuit missionaries between the 17th and 18th centuries, such as the Church of Chonchi.

Calling all the urban wanderers out there!
This busy street in Santiago, turned into a colourful pedestrian promenade back in 2017, is something that would leave you with a big smile for a long time.
This is a project of the Chilean visual artist, Dasic Fernández, who initially planned to design a temporary installation. However, both locals and the Mayor are now hoping to keep it forever.
San Cristóbal Hill (Santiago de Chile)
The native name of the hill was Tupahue, but it was later called by the Spanish conquistadors for St Christopher, in honour of its use as a landmark.
San Cristóbal Hill is also the second highest point in the Chilean capital from where you can enjoy the breath-taking view for free!
What’s most unique about this place is the enormous statue of the Virgin Mary on the top of the hill.
El Tatio (Andes)

Being the third largest geyser on Earth, the majestic El Tatio is situated at 4 320 metres above sea level in the Andes.
Its name means “granddad”, “appearing” and “oven” at the same time…so, we guess everyone could stick to the one that likes most. :)
Glacier Grey (Torres del Paine)

Believe it or not, the Chilean glaciers in Patagonia can proudly compete with their relatives in Iceland!
With almost 20 km of length, Grey Glacier, for instance, is a huge natural ice construction, of incomparable beauty. The “nunatak”, a piece of land that divides the glacier in two parts, forms a petite island in the middle of the glacier, where you can actually get out of the boat and walk for a little while.
Atacama desert

Visiting Atacama desert, the driest desert on the planet, is all about the unearthly sceneries!
Fun fact: There is a 100-kilometer area of Atacama that has been considered as the most resembling the terrain on Mars and, thus, it has been used for filming Mars scenes.
Elqui Valley

The winning Elqui Valley is popular with the production of first-class Chilean wines. The region consists of multiple authentic villages, however, the most touristic is Pisco Elqui – the birthplace of the legendary Pisco, the national Chilean drink.
As an extra perk, this valley is believed to be one of the best spots for stargazing in the entire world! WOW, right?
Marble caves (Chico region)

The marble caves of Chico Chile are one of those natural formations that make you believe that Mother Nature outdoes herself!
Carved into the Andes more than 6000 years ago, they dwell on a peninsula of substantial marble joining the glacial lake General Carrera.
Valparaíso
